Been fighting the good fight for awhile now. Im leaning towards magnesium deficiency. The strain is OG Kush. This is is from my mother plant. It is effecting random leaves from the bottom up. And only the older leaves. Im using "The Nectar for the gods" base program." This includes my soil. The plant is growing great. Just need to get this deficiency under control.

Well JD, sounds like you agree with my prognosis. Suppose I will have to run out and pick up some cal-mag tomorrow or monday. She isnt due to be fed again until early next week.

I have some "humboldt micro" should I try that first?

Sling,
Well since you did good on the diagnosis by reading the leaves (interveinal chlorosis it's called) I thought you should have the satisfaction of selecting the cure.

I'm not familiar with your nutrient but it's organic and you are in soil. In hydro, I use MgSo4 (epsom salts) Others choose calmag and often soil growers will add dolomite lime which is a good soil ph buffer as well as a source for Mg and Ca. None are a bad choice...just make sure you don't overdo it. I would call that deficiency mild to moderate...and certainly NOT severe. So gently does it.

ooops, forgot to answer the Humbolt micro question. My gut reaction is no. It's part of a 3 part nutrient system and to get enough Mg, you might end up with too much of something else. Better to keep it simple. If you're near a pharmacy, you could swing by on your way home...they should have Epsom Salts. Jut make sure it's not scented. Max of 1 tsp/gal.

For what u understand. The briwn spotting is a calcium issue. I think I have the multi issue going on here. Also, coming from a known og grower, can't remember the name, I heard him on a podcast he said the og kush is a cal/mag whore. Its part of his secret formula. the epson salts will not give me the calcium that I need. Right?

I just so happen to havesome out in my garage. It says to apply 2-4 tbls per plant. Does this sound right? Or should I add it to the plants 1 gallon jug I use to feed? Thanks for all your help by the way.

sling,
First make sure it's Dolomite lime CaMg(CO 3) 2, and not plain old garden lime which has no Mg.

I'm no expert at this..but I know it can be applied as a top dressing and then slowly it will absorb into the soil.

But you will probably want it to absorb faster. The dosage on the bag is probably for outdoor use. Too much for a potted plant. If it's fairly fine Dolomite, it should dissolve in water and apply it that way. maybe 1 tsp/gal.
Don't mix in with nutrients. That should do it.
JD

It's dolomite. I bought it last time I was at the grow shop to help stabilize my ph. I haven't been using it though. Not to be difficult but why can't I mix it with my nutes? And how often should I feed the plants the lime? It's all organic if that makes a difference.

usually ppl put lime in the soil, because it's easier. whether it's organic or chem makes no difference, the salts that the plants eat are exactly the same salts either way. ppl just act pretentious about dumping shit water on their plants because it's fashionable atm.

Sling,
Nutrients tend to be acidic and Dolomite basic. Mixing them together can cause undesirable interaction possibly resulting in certain elements/compounds precipitating out...or that's what I read on a website (I'm no chemist). Far as administration is concerned...give a dose and see how plants respond.

Thanks all! I will give her a feed and watch get over the next couple weeks. Thanks for the help and happy growing.:)
