you know Sativa is ok to grow in with other indica i could never ,, sit there and flower 10 - 18 weeks its about pumping out the poundage and less cost ...
Now if you had a flower room ,, and had a few flowering for personal use but in all honesty Sativa is Garbage for commercial growing you will go broke by 3 - 4 harvest this is why you get the 50 / 50 hybrids that pound it out best of both worlds

Im talking about strains like Blue dream, and J1 (jack h X skunk #1) when I'm talking about sativa dom heavy yielders. Both are 9-10 week strains and Ive gotten some of my largest yields off of these. Both do great outdoors and get huge.

i think you are getting confused with pure sativas and sativa dominated hybrids which finish in roughly the same time as indica dominated hybrids
but produce more as they tend to grow much larger
a given phenotype of a 50/50 hybrid can express a sativa growth pattern and fewer leaves this can out yield its sister which is also a 50/50 hybrid but expresses a more leafy indica growth pattern

My sativas have been yielding more but it comes with a longer flower time. I try to grow 10 week sativa dom, though I haven't grown any 14+ wk sativa I'd like to. I can't report on the longer flowering sativa yields, I'd imagine they would be huge, but at a cost of being able to flower out 2 Indica harvests in the same time.
The sats I grow yield 3oz per 21 day veg on average. I have some in flower that were vegged for 1.5 weeks and should yield 2 Oz. Which I can't complain about. The thing is with the veg time of 10 days, I do not have to trim any leaves with 12 plants in a 4x4 tray. Don't laugh at my table, I'm dialing shit in!! Lol
Day 1 flower (6 different strains)
Day 14 flower
Now I am HOPING to get 2 Oz per plant, but realistically I'll be happy with 1. 5oz per plant. This is using new nutrients, new pots, new medium (stuff I've never used before) so 20oz using a 1000w I'll be happy. Next grow, the plants will obviously be vegged longer and may need a nice prune. I may not even lollipop the current grow. I'm saying this because it really depends on a lot of factors of the grow to be able to introduce certain techniques of plant training.

Here is a idea , Take no more then 10 percent of the leafs in your indoor grow ,, that will equate to pretty much what insect will damage

That's the thing darth, there's insect damage AND animal damage out door, so I think realistically in nature, 30% is a good ball park. I've had deer eat whole plants before, I've also had deer eat 30%, while the plant still yielded the same or better as it's sister plant (I did alot of guerilla growing and it was a tough ride)

I don't run a lot of sativa dom stuff indoors. Mostly all OG, sour, chems, cookies, etc. I will use a light or two once and a while to do some blue dream, J1, alien wrench, etc to get some variety and some sativa dom stuff. Id say at least 75% of my rooms go to OG, sour, GG4, and stuff from the cookie fam.

the overall yield of a plant is dependent on its individual genetic blueprint as to weather it will produce lots of branching/side branching large multiple floral clusters dense individual flowers etc

i do not see how many leaves the plant produces has anything to do with it as we know this can vary hugely
i think it is ok to prune an indica dominated expressing sister that is much more leafy than its sativa dominated sibling
both are classed as 50/50 hybrids, one takes after the mother one takes after the father
both sister plants have individual characteristics although they share very similar genes

or weather it grows in a helpful shape without too much shading
by pruning/bending etc the indica sister to make her "look" more like her attractive sativa dom sister
resulting in a more open canopy, i see no harm in this, to me it makes sense anyway lol

Nice darth, it looks like we grow similar setups? What strains do you have there? I have some gg4 veggies at 2 weeks veg today I've been topping ALOT to keep them short. Theyare about 11" tall with 15+ ttops or so, I'm hoping I don't have to do much defol with them in flower, I will be flowering them in a week. But, the topping I have been doing, is kind of defol. I've topped alot, these are only 12 days veg (again, don't laugh, new medium ect)

My strains in the other pics are 2 phenos of headband, gg4, blue lemon thai, a fruity chronic juice, gg4, and a jedi kush x gg4, and tangilope x Chem 91 I call chemalope.
