Defoliation in Flower???

So Ive got 8 two foot tall clones under a 600 cooltube in a 2'x3'x5' tent. I accidentally had the light too close, so I bleached them a bit. My question is should I remove these damaged leaves? My second question is should I be removing lower bud sites to encourage top cola growth? They are starting week 4 of flower today.

I don't want to shock them, I'd like to just leave them but my concern is just that the light bleaching has caused a bit of underdevelopment on a good 6 out of the 8 top colas, they havent exploded as much as the 2 shortest ones so that is my assumption, the lower buds have exploded but not the tops. They stretched a little more then expected so some of these lower bud sites seem like wasted energy. Again, I just don't want to shock them too much especially after the light bleaching.

I'm counting on these top colas because I didnt train these clones or anything, just snipped and put right into flower after rooting. Its my first grow in my new equipment so I am trying to pay for it all with this harvest. The clones are in 3L pots too haha, I wanted to fit as many as I could instead of vegging less plants for a longer period.

When the plant doesn't need those leaves or can't use them anymore it will drop them.

As for defoliation its a controversial technique but it sounds like your thinking of lollypopping.

At 2ft tall at 4 weeks flowering I wouldn't worry about removing any. Your 600w is good for around 3ft of penetration.

Just ride it out.

Will do, thanks man:bigjoint:

What is lollypopping? Focusing on the top cola? This is usually the method of SOG commercial growers right?

I use LOLLYPOPPING and I grow using a 400w.

IMO with my 400w I have around 2ft of usable penetration.

In order to maximise my yields from seed I beg for around 6 weeks.

At harvest my plants are 3ft tall and my canopy is dense.

I trim almost all my growth away before entering into flower. Leaving around 3 nodes on each main stalk (mainline training for 4 heads) during flower stretch I end up with around 6-8 nodes on each main.

If left them I would have a 3ft tall plant with around 16 nodes on each main. A lot of fluffy popcorn shit that didn't amount to much because of the decreased light intensity.
Instead I have an under carriage that allows plenty of air movement underneath my canopy and a canopy that's around 12" deep with modest sized colas and good secondary branching.

Don't know if it's commercial techniques but it works great for me +1gpw.

Badass man, thanks for sharing that! No technique is specifically commercial obviously ya, just meant most common, allows them to maximize space. I just wanted to try the 8 this round, next round I will tone down to maybe 3 veg longer and train them. After this harvest we are flowering our mothers, so excited. They are huge, we would be lucky if we can fit the 2 of them in a 5x5 tent lol.
