Defoliation, Your thoughts?

If you look at a bud thats been shaded by a large leaf. The bud is fluffy and a real light lime green color.. Uncover same bud and 2 days later it will look a 100% better. I'm in no way advocating trimming like i've seen some people do where they strip the plant completely bare of everything but the sugar leaves. But i do believe that at diff. periods some leaves become less beneficial, and the gains outweigh losses of trimming those.

Makes sense it would be less of an issue with the 1k.. But even then if it's not a scrog and the lights are directly over the plant, it should still make a noticable diff.
Cause at the 3ft or so the light is gonna be above the side growth, the lumens will be drastically reduced.

I beg to differ. I noticed on my grows the ones i cut tons of leaf off (much like defol) i got more bud. 12-13 oz opposed to 8-10 oz on a "left to grow" bush.
This is really for people like me who have space and height restrictions.
Like the saying goes Rare, "Don't knock it till you've tried it!"

I've tried it with numerous strains and I find that for the most part it is better to leave the leaves on. Now trimming the bottoms and tying into the right place can do wonders.

People take clones and at times these people take numerous amounts of them all for the plant to bounce back in a week or two's time. People also say to take a bottom 3rd of the plant off, and i have, numerous times. Ive stripped leaves (not as much as this method) only to benefit in the end. But to say I've done this technique down to a "T" would be a lie, i have not. So for me it'll be a learning process, one that i hope to grow from. I'll take the good with the bad and learn from it...

I agree, tucking is easy but sometimes if you tuck too many the plant can freak out. I've watched this happen bunches of times. In a small grow cab with 6 plants there's no other way. This will cut back tremendously on humidity. And argue? What's to argue? I've read that article up to my current page 63 and everyone that's employing these techniques are having great results. It's like with religion, if it's not for you, then it's not for you so why try to stomp on others that believe it works, Or believe it can work?

Going off of what i yield with a 2 liter soda bottle cut at the dome at top and the lumens per foot ill have (11,224) i should be seeing 3 to 3 1/2 oz per plant per gallon bucket (that's what they're in). As you can see i do my research before employing any tactic i may find suitable. If it works then fantastic! If not, no big deal, I've got plenty of seeds with a ton more on their way. Not to mention ill also have buds to partake with one way or another.

so environment and precisely what style you are going for is everything. I like Sasquatch plants that eat lightbulbs and green meat, plants so big that they may win in a wrestling match. plants so XL I can hug them and imagine I have a fat nu girlfriend w a shit ton of bikini stubble. you get the idea, I hang Christmas lights.

It is only a realistic method on a small scale. Like under 25 sq ft, 1kw or less. A friend of mine just pulled over 5 1/4 lbs from 2 plants under 3 lights. Think he stripped his fan leaves? Of course not, he trained and trellised them out so there were 100 colas getting equal light.

Yep I've seen grows like that. Where are all the fan leaves? All stuck down underneath a carpet of buds not getting any light...

May as well snip em. I found (like i mentioned) that when i do that to a large amount of leaf, the plants tend to freak out more so than snipping.
