I have a critical mass plant that has been Budding for about a week, I decided to defoliate it last night, I feel like I may have cut too many leaves, here is a picture of it before I cut, give me some advise
my adivice is leave it alone, and water it as needed. No "Nuts" No Topping, FIMM, LST, HST, PST, GST, HST lol.

by that logic I am almost positive that 'mother nature' knocks leaves off. Wind, passing animals, sticks falling off of trees.....if you are going to use bad logic, then you should at least think it through. Dang, mother nature has bugs and I don't have any bugs...I must be doing something wrong!
I've never really seen Mother Nature grow monster unseeded buds outside with no help from her homo sapiens friends. However, if I take all the leaves off, how do you make lovely cannabutter, and I do so love cookies. :-)

some bugs are beneficial to a plant, more stupidity on your side, what else you got?

Hey Rico. I checked out some of your posts and you are being antagonistic in multiple threads without really contributing anything to any of those threads. You do know that if someone clicks on your name they can see all of your activity and use it to determine whether you are credible or just another "chuck" of rollitup, don't you?

Ask me if I give a fuck.

GRENADE!!!

Run from the thread, I just posted to "poke with a sharp stick" in the eye.

Defoliation is better handled the way the Military used to handle the "invisible" gay population of the services....

"Don't Ask Dont Tell" about Defoliation....

No Disrespect to anyone who is gay and Thank You for your service to Any Men and Women of the Military.
Bless,
DZ

that's my point, the whole "mother nature doesn't do it" defense doesn't hold up.

If you are making butter out of fan leaves then you are doing it wrong! I am positive that I never told anyone to take all of their fan leaves off anyway.

trim or not to trim...I guess it's a matter of personal preference. I always tell people to experiment and see what works for them. I've not seen much difference either way.

But WOW what a hot topic.

Nah... when making butter, you are looking for the oils, not the trichomes. You need to use a fair amount, but don't throw the fan leaves away... 2.5 oz shake makes one pound of wicked butter. I have made with bud too and find that the one made with fan and sugar leaves to be more potent.

He's not telling anybody to do anything, stupid. He's offering suggestions about what to do later on when the plant is flowering. I've trimmed leaves on some plants and left them alone on some. Experimentation is a great thing. What works for you may not work for somebody else and vice versa. There are just too many variables between growers and their set-ups.

Wise people offer and take advice graciously and don't insult those they don't agree with. We can all learn something from each other.
Well said mate

When I'm making butter I'm looking for the trichomes. Butter made with bud will likely be far more potent than butter made with fan and sugar leaves. Definitely throw the fan leaves away. Use 4oz of premium sugar trim minimum to 6 sticks of butter with plenty of water to yield 4 sticks (one pound) of strained finished product after a long, slow cook....at least that's how it has gone for me over the years.

image.jpg Ninjablower, why would anybody take leaves in the second week of bud? I take most water leaves from indica dominate strains after the 26th day in bud. Sativa's get water leafs pulled about 35 to 40 days in. All strains must be tested for when.
Now to piss all the antideleafers off even more. I also lollipop.

I dont know man. Im a second week clean out guy. I clean out the centers and lower couple branches cause i dont like larf and i like the airflow through the centers.
I do a very mild lollypoping. I was in my room the other day and i realized that id wayyy over trimmed up one of my plants. I noticed this because i looked at the ones on each side of it and said " wow, those are heavy, but whats with the middle one?" Then i noticed the intensity of the lollypoping id done to it. It really stands out as the worst producer in the row. Just my personal experience. Ya know it wouldnt hurt to try one normal next year for ya, or just minor trim up. Looks like youve got enough space to toss an extra one there ;)
