Deformed Seedling

Hey all, my seedlings have been under my light for about 6 days..I have five of them and they all kinda have deformed first serrated leaves(some more deformed than others) which I think is due to putting them under a light so quickly...all of them have grown out of it by the time the 3 bladed leaves came out except for the one more directly under the light is still showing deformity..i have the light(1000w) about 1ft 9in from the tops and using the hand technique it felt fine...I'm thinking the intensity of the light so early in the plants life may be to blame here istead of heat....Should I just raise up the light until they have their 5 bladed leaves and then go back to putting it close as possible or what?? Any help is appreciated....

Hi SMOKE..

if you are unsure... you should definitley raise the light.. better safe than sorry....At least for a few days.. Maybe, raise it 12 inches.. and then lower it 1inch every day...

do you have fans running?

pictures?

cheers

The good news is this.. IF you put a 1000 watt bulb over plants, and it was to much.. it would probably kill themin less than 24 hours.. and your plants are still alive!!!

That is good news knowm...I have two, like 14in or so, oscilating fans on full speed...my last grow had heat issues so im making sure that doesnt happen this time...unfortunatly no pics..I'm hopin to get a camera for christmas since the person I'm supposed to borrow one from hasn't coughed it up yet..I'll have to do that Knowm and see if that was the problem I've raised the lights to 2 1/2ft..about 9in higher than before...what else would cause the deformity???
