Dehumidifier best of the best

I am thinking of buying a Phoenix270htx tomorrow . If anyone has any last minute suggestions or comments on different brands or experience with this unit.. i would appreciate the help. Thanks

I don't know what you've got there or what size you require... but I did just recently purchase a hisense 70 pint dehumidifier for around $280
I couldn't be happier with it... it does a great job in a very damp basement 30x40... I have had a few dehumidifier brands over the past decade and this unit out performs any other ive had..even those rated higher

This one would do the trick.I just picked a random one off amazon...you could find a cheaper one as I did..I think I spent 80 on mine. I'm working with about the same space. It keeps my rh at 20. Fills up every 6-8 hrs. most of these units come with a drain hose as well so you dont have to empty

Right now I'm using what would be equivalent to about 9 of those and my humidity reaches 54% when lights off

Nonexistent . Sealed with co2

really it depends on how many plants are in your space... more plants = more humidity

Sealed rooms need much larger dehumidifiers than an air exchange room. If that rooms is 20x20 and majority of that is canopy, you might need 2 of those 270s. I started with 100 pints in small 9x12 3600 watt rooms, wasn't enough. Had to get a 200, and it still struggles here and their.

Would it not be cheaper to exchange the air cpl times a day?

The only air exchange I have seen in a sealed room was to pull the built up O2 at the top of room when lights are on and pulling the built up C02 from the bottom when lights turn off. None of it had to do with humidity or temperature.

I have tried those huge dehumidifiers..and spent big money

and honestly this 70pint hisense I just bought works better

I used to run a sealed 12x12 room with 4k and a 100pint dehumidiifeir couldn't do it (about 64 sq ft of canopy)

I didn't need to use a dehumidifier during lights on but absolutely needed it during lights off
which is an advantage since the dehumidifier adds a good deal of heat to a room

no...while running co2 the fan would need to kick on frequently to reduce the humidity... and that's assuming the ambient or outdoor humidity is low enough to put you in range

if its spring and raining the fan exhaust will run 24/7

unless your in Arizona

I have been running co2 for many years... I have done it sealed with a 2 ton a/c and I have tried using the exhaust fans and co2

I have an EVC-2 fan controller and and IGS digital co2 sniffer$$$

it only works well if it fucking cooold out otherwise a/c is the only way

everyone everywhere said its not worth the trouble... I didn't listen I had to have the co2

now... I don't even use it except a few months in the winter

for the electrical bill cost of running a dehumidifier and a/c unit you could double your light watts and produce a shit ton more yield than co2 will provide

if your going to run co2 and with fans I recommend the evc-2 sentinel controller... the dead band feature is a huge advantage in saving your co2/propane

also..unless your running 75watts per sq ft or better... you aren't getting the most from your co2

i did a side by side comparison (not using co2)... i ran the same clones uner 60watts/per sq ft and 75 watts per sq ft

same room same nutrients

the 75watts per sq ft yielded 30% more than 60 watts per sq ft
do the math on that and you will see more watts per sq ft pays

In the 20x20 I have 2 90 pints and 2 70 pints .

i bought the Phoenix today . 2350'shipped . It does at least 161pints at 60rh/80degrees up to 35 gallons per day . It should save me one dehu .. So by saving me 8 amps 24/7 I figure it should pay for itself in a year.

Exchanging air may be an option for some.. But I don't want to lose co2 or bring in bugs. And I've heard bad stories with people mixing fresh air and co2 rooms

If u have the cash, go with two of those 270s. You'll never have to worry about humidity, and you always made it so if one goes down the other can keep up until u notice and can get it fixed. Redundancy is key in large grows.
