Dehumidifier without starting signalsound

hey fellow growers,

i just set up my new controller and pluged in my dehumidifier, sadly that dehumidifier makes a bright starting sound after getting voltage, i can hear that sound 3 rooms away with closed doors...really a pain when it starts every 20min...

does anyone have a recommendation for a dehumidifier that doesn't make a beeeeeeeep when it starts?

Can't you put some tape over the crevice where the beep comes from?

i was searching for it but it seems it's under the case...

I assume that you're drying weed so you can't just let it run non stop at a lower RH. It's gotta come from somewhere... Can't you unscrew the casing or click it open? Otherwise you can always get yourself some earplugs!

actually i´m not drying i just want to lower RH in the growtent while flowering without getting temps too high (if the dehumidifier runs it increases temps to like 86F)

to explain the current setup:

the tent is in a small room with open doors(the cats eat in that room and meow like hell when i close the door)
the dehumidifier stands next to the tent with a tube directing the dry air directly into the tent
the controller starts the dehumidifier when RH in the tent exceeds 65%, blowing the dry air directly into the tent, increasing temp alot if it runs 24/7

the dehumidifier has a built in RH sensor, monitoring the RH outside the tent and could run permanently, drying the air outside the tent...so in theory the tent could only suck in the dryied air and it won't make a sound then...but with open doors(coz of cats) higher RH air will always come in....so the dehumidifier runs 24/7, when i let controller manage the dehumidifier i only runs every 20-30min for like 20min...halfing the operation time and costs...

when i close the door and ignore the cat moans the heat from the dehumidifier inside the room stacks up and i end up with more the 86F inside the tent...then i would need a air conditioner to cool down the air again

i could live with that...my wife can't

Just remove the beeper and replace it with a resistor the same size.probably could just remove it and connect the wires or leave them open

mmh ok i´m no electrician, i´ll try....yeah it seems that would be the easiest solution

so i´ll screw that thing open later

remember to unplug it first

Should be able to just cut and cap 1 wire that goes to the beeper. It should hinder any performance of the machine just kills the sound
