dehumidifiers and dryness

hey all,
im currently on a grow right now and am in flowering stage. I have my dehumidifer set on 40%. Sometimes it feels like it gets hotter and dryer than that in there. When i water my girls litterally about a day or two later my dehumidifer bucket fills right up with water. Obviously it is the water i just watered with them the day before. Also, it seems like some of the plants that are a about 4' away from them, their bottom leaves get real droopy after about a day or two and when i test my soil for dryness with the soil meter those buckets are usually bone dry. My question is: is this bad for my plants? has anyone had a similiar problem or know what i am talking about? Any help or input on this matter would be great.

Rotate your plants around so it is not always the same plants that are getting sucked dry that fast, or even move the dehumidifier around. What are you using as a medium? That could make a huge difference as well. If it is soil I would recommend definitely moving stuff around or maybe even stop using it if you are not having any type of mold/mildew issues.

I'm wondering if your pot size is too small for the plants causing them to dry out too quickly (when using the dehumidifier).

I have this happen every now and then. I set my dehumidifier to 40 and it sometimes will take rH to 30 and keep running. I have another rH meter in the room that is always dead on to check to precise levels. Anyway, I have the energy saving option to let mine run 3 hours and then off for 3, so mine doesn't dry out as quickly. Just use a cheap timer that can be used for cycling on/off if your doesn't have the option. My room is 15X15X8 and of course a smaller space than that is really gonna dry out quickly with the normal sized unit. I hope this helps. have fun.
