Delicious Seeds Sugar Candy not great

I've only grown out 4 sugar punch, but none of them even came close to the Caramel Candy Kush and Huckleberry SQ I've run from Dynasty.

I've got 6 more SP seeds to sort through so hopefully I find something like you've found in them...
Dynasty huh? I'll look into it.

Your loss. It's better than anything I've grown from E$ko or prof P.

I love ya, man. We've batted this ping pong ball around for....how many years now? It's too bad, imo, that you and I are so many miles apart. I'd love to toke some of your sannies smoke. But be sure, I'd have some personal backup, just in case I wanted to get stoned. ;)

I agree 100%. It's hard to judge anything from two beans but I understand why people don't grow many beans if something doesn't come out good from the first few. They not expecting keepers but if the genetics are good starting with and the breeders knows what his stud brings to the table it shouldn't be a lot of bunk in the seeds IMHO.

My opinion also. I'm not mining for keepers, I plant for the next jars of smoke most of the time. I've encountered strains where every bean ran to completion was, at the worst, B+. Not a dud in the lot.

If the first beans out of a pack yield crap, I don't judge the strain. But I'm aware from experience that the next beans have at least a good chance of being the same crap, or resembling that crap. [see: heri [and her kin] ]. Seeds are cheap enough to have many options rather than finishing every pack like a child forced to clean his plate of spinach.

No way in hell one seed is anything to make an opinion from. 2 packs is legitimate. Reviews like this should have a big disclaimer before anything negative is said.

Did you not see in the first post where the OP stated he ran only the one bean? That was the disclaimer, I'm pretty sure.

What dynasty strains you run?

I've run caramel cough from Prof P (pack and a half) and Holy Princess from E$ko (couple packs). Found good plants. Unique and different.
One of the Cough's in particular will be kept around for a while, but the winner SP's are significantly more potent and trippy and everything great a sativa is supposed to be.

Do you have pics you can post up? I'm gonna dig in to those again and would love to see some pics of your keeper so that I have an idea of what to look for....

Bright lime green, not huge hairs, big colas... nothing that far into flower. Have a vegging mom or two. Have some buds also. There are a few different winning phenotypes though. Current fav reeks like skunk and blueberry candy and looks like old skunk. There are nice sweeter smelling as well they tend to have more pronounced hairs. I'll get you a picture in the not that distant future have some I just put into flower.

Yeah I did kind of mention that right off the top, only to then get numerous posts about "you only grew one plant and you have the nerve to give your opinion". Apparently a lot of people have very poor reading comprehension. Yeah, I can give my opinion on one plant if I so choose. Shocking, huh?

you all good bob. There has been strains ive ran that were from popular companies that gave up all junk. ThSeeds Cold Creek Kush. Wow. Got 4 females from 10 plants seed pack. Everyone grew very similar except one was shorter. Bushy affie stout structure with deep green leaves but the leaves were long and sativa thin. Everyone of them bitches grew GIGANTIC buds but was complete duff. No trichomes. Smell was hay like. Just a junk of a strain. Then i read about the Colorado Cup scam with cck. Seems the owner of thseeds just entered a local fire og cut called coal creek kush. Took second place and then a month later. ...BAM!!! ThSeeds has Cold Creek Kush. Horrible. Usually the strains that bust out on the scene real fast and semi hyped and then fizzle out in popularity just as quick arent all that. But cck was just a complete joke. Iam even thinking someone tampered with the package and switched seeds from the place i bought them at. Jackson Michigan. I dont know but i do know CCK is by far thee worst plant i ever wasted my time and electric bill on. RD's Afghan Hells Angel was a close second. Actually my cousin ran that while i was running cck. We both at the finish were like what the fuk? There are duds Bob...but i just run at least a whole pack to truly get an idea of what i got. Matter.of.fact....that cck pissed me off so bad that i swore Thseeds off. And i prolly shouldn't. I sure they got good shit...just not for me. Too many other seed companies out there.

My thinking is i should find something decent in a 10 pack at least. A keeper? Usually not. 75 to 80% of me seed runs in my tester room do not make it in the main veg and bloom rooms. In the rotation. Clones....different story. The work has already been done for you....but i still run EVERYTHING in my test room at least once. And i treat all new cuts as if they are infected with pm or mites even though they almost never are. Quarantine everything at least one run mostly 2 runs. I run a perpetual system where something is always getting chopped...replaced....cloned....vegged. A bad seed plant or clone would ruin alot of work that goes into a perpetual grow. Bugs mold amd hermans are devastating in perpetual rooms. My patients would drop me like a hot potato. Lol

A lot of mediocre or downright bad strains out there. Most companies grow so many strains that there's no way they can put enough attention into each one. It's getting so that finding a usable plant is very difficult. I bought a bunch of different seeds from different companies and only one strain turned out to be worth growing or smoking, which was Bubble Bomb from Bomb Seeds. I can get higher from immature BB buds at about 5 weeks than the others at full ripeness. Surprising really because Bubblegum strain itself is not super-potent. Guess it must be the THC Bomb that made it potent. However it happened, that one strain turned out amazing, also having nice flavor. The phenos vary in height and bud structure but I found 1 out of 4 that was just right with medium height and also had fat buds and high potency. 1 out of 4 being a near perfect keeper ain't bad. So at least from that one strain, it appears that Bomb Seeds is a good place for strain hunting. Every time I smoke it I say damn that's good shit. That's the test. Every single time you smoke a strain it should make you say that or you haven't found a good one yet.

Its a seedy business Bob. No doubt in that. So many companies trying to cash in. Cannabis in general is a difficult plant to homogenize and stabilize into uniformity. To do it rite takes years and thousands of plants with diligent selection and breeding. Just to create ONE true breeding variety...a real "strain" . These so called breeders coming out with 10 - 20 strains in thier catalog...yeah rite. But we still buy them....hoping for a winner. And they keep churning them out. Truth be known....we can "make" our own seeds that arw just as much of a chance as what we pay alot of money to other people that market seeds. Most of them arent breeding shit. What they call breeding and selection is just giving out new stuff to a bunch of growers and wait for the reports. Thats how they get around the plant numbers and time it takes to do it rite.

There is only a true handful of real deal cultivars. Skunk #1 being the most popular. And almost everything were smoking is a variation of skunk in some fashion. Your Chems...Og's...etc...all variations on a basic theme. Sour diesel....there is some fuelly haze and skunk going on in that one. Iam convinced.

To do it right you have to actually analyze a bunch of plants for THC content etc and only cross the best ones. How many breeders have their own HPLC unit on hand?

sour diesel is a chemdawg cross so is og kush and the thseeds cold creek kush is a rip off of the original and it has no relation to the elite clone only which tastes amazing.

So chemDOG is????

Not to be trusted.

I think the Sugar Candy may not have been ripe, which may be why it was weak. It looked pretty ripe but 60 days does seem a little short. I have another batch of it in the system so I'll let that go a full 10 weeks and see if that helps.

While so many are bashing on the OP I find it interesting not ONE person has come on here and disagreed with his original assessment.

So any of you get the good pheno of Sugar Candy?

Yeah mine was really nice, potent head high (not the most potent ive grown but definitely up there)

Really nice smell and taste.

All grown outdoors in Australia last season from a freebie from Attitude.

So what he greq one bean? Is his experience with that one bean any less valid than had he grown out 10? He reported his experience and was honest about how many he ran. If you think he is trashing a company with his very reasonably worded post, I dont know what to tell you.

Not everyone has space to run packs of beans and time or resources to cull undesirable traits. You spend money on genetics and hope it lives up to the description.
