Seven ACORN workers had submitted nearly 2,000 bogus voter registration forms. According to case records, they flipped through phone books for names to use on the forms, including "Leon Spinks," "Frekkie Magoal" and "Fruto Boy Crispila." Three ACORN election hoaxers pleaded guilty in October. A King County prosecutor called ACORN's criminal sabotage "an act of vandalism upon the voter rolls."
The group's vandalism on electoral integrity is systemic. ACORN has been implicated in similar voter fraud schemes in Missouri, Ohio and at least 12 other states. The Wall Street Journal noted: "In Ohio in 2004, a worker for one affiliate was given crack cocaine in exchange for fraudulent registrations that included underage voters, dead voters and pillars of the community named Mary Poppins, Dick Tracy and Jive Turkey. During a congressional hearing in Ohio in the aftermath of the 2004 election, officials from several counties in the state explained ACORN's practice of dumping thousands of registration forms in their lap on the submission deadline, even though the forms had been collected months earlier." In March, Philadelphia elections officials accused the nonprofit advocacy group of filing fraudulent voter registrations in advance of the April 22nd Pennsylvania primary. The charges have been forwarded to the city district attorney's office.
Under the guise of "consumer advocacy," ACORN has received money from the Department of Housing and Urban Development. HUD funds hundreds, if not thousands, of left-wing "anti-poverty" groups across the country led by ACORN. Last October, HUD announced more than $44 million in new housing counseling grants to over 400 state and local efforts. The White House has increased funding for housing counseling by 150 percent since taking office in 2001, despite the role most of these recipients play as activist satellites of the Democratic Party. The AARP scored nearly $400,000 for training; the National Council of La Raza ("The Race") scooped up more than $1.3 million; the National Urban League raked in nearly $1 million; and the ACORN Housing Corporation received more than $1.6 million.
As the Consumer Rights League points out in its new expose, the ACORN Housing Corporation has worked to obtain mortgages for illegal aliens in partnership with Citibank. It relies on undocumented income, "under the table" money, which may not be reported to the Internal Revenue Service. Moreover, the group's "financial justice" operations attack lenders for "exotic" loans, while recommending 10-year interest-only loans (which deny equity to the buyer) and risky reverse mortgages. Whistleblower documents reveal internal discussions among the group that blur the lines between its tax-exempt housing work and its aggressive electioneering activities. The group appears to shake down corporate interests with relentless PR attacks, and then enters "no lobby" agreements with targeted corporations after receiving payment.
Republicans have largely looked the other way as ACORN has expanded its government-funded empire. But finally, a few conservative voices in Congress have called for investigation of the group's apparent extortion schemes. This week, GOP Reps. Tom Feeney, Jeb Hensarling and Ed Royce called on Democrat Barney Frank, chair of the House Financial Services Committee, to convene a hearing to probe potential illegalities and abuse of taxpayer funds by ACORN's management and minions alike.
Where does the candidate of Hope and Change -- the candidate of Reform and New Politics -- stand on the issue? Barack Obama, ACORN's senator, is for more of the same old, same old subsidizing of far-left politics in the name of fighting for the poor while enriching ideological cronies. It's the Chicago way.

So consider, if you will, the following:
1) ACORNs role in our current financial crisis through lobbying efforts and lawsuits, their shady leaders, their voter fraud activities, and the fact that they are funded largely (now) by the taxpayers of this country.
2) Barack Obamas intimate involvement with ACORN as a Community Organizer and hired counsel for the organization.
3) Democrat Senators Christopher Dodd and Barney Franks involvement in appropriating 20% of the last Housing Bill to ACORN.
4) Democrat Christopher Dodds sweetheart deal with Countrywide.
5) Democrat President Bill Clintons expansion of the CRA (pushed by ACORN), which created a large portion of the current economic disaster.
6) Top Democrats (Dodd, Obama, and John Kerry) receiving the vast majority of lobbying funds from Freddie & Fannie employees.
And thats not even all of it, folks. A person could write a book about this fiasco, if they had time.
Yet the Democrats and Barack Obama would like you to believe that were in this mess because of greedy and power-hungry corporations. They have the greed and power-hungry part right, they just need to insert government and shady non-profits in place of corporations.
Where, oh where is our media?!?!?!?!?!? This has nothing to do with Democrats vs. Republicans, but rather evil, greedy, power-hungry government monsters (who happen to be mostly Democrats and evil taxpayer-funded non-profit scumbags) against the taxpayers of America. So why are our main news sources neglecting to give us this information?
Folks, if you vote for Barack Obama and Democrats because you believe that theyre for the little guy, consider all of the information contained in this post, and tell me that these despicable human beings dont make Enron look like a drop in the bucket. Then consider how they created legislation that gives mortgages away to unqualified borrowers (the poor) of which they cant possibly afford, only to have to watch their dream of home ownership be stripped away when they cant make the payments. (Duh?) THEN, consider the fact that these creeps have the AUDACITY to lecture John McCain and House Republicans on what got us here in the first place?
If youre angry about large corporations like WalMart or oil companies turning ridiculous profits, consider the fact that these companies make their money by CREATING and SELLING THINGS that PEOPLE WANT and NEED. These jerks in Congress and ACORN are taking money from your pockets, creating legislation that puts the American taxpayer in a precarious economic situation through no fault of our own, and then ask us to BAIL THEM OUT.
What am I missing, here? Why isnt all of America up-in-arms over this? And how can ANYONE justify voting for a Democrat right now, let alone Barack Obama?

Although they teach you in high school that a metaphor does not use "like" or "as", colloquially a metaphor is any comparison between two unlike things, whether they use "like" or "as" or not.
No I don't, that can easily be topped by someone who is a host on a vastly viewed media endorsed show, Keith friggin' Olbermann.
I am very aware of grammar, Dr.Pot, but I am not the one who misused the correct usage of a metaphor. It MUST be linked with "is" and it cannot be an adjective. Thanks.

I know what the correct definition of the word "metaphor" is, I'm just saying that most people don't split hairs when deciding what is and what is not a metaphor.
Even though Rush and Keith are about on even terms as far as hate, Rush seems to be on the radio like 24/7 and Keith only has a half-hour show. Then there's Sean Hannity, who probably cancels out Keith entirely. There's Chirs Matthews who is in a similar vein as Bill O'Reilly. And then there are those other Republican tools whose names I don't remember because I never watch them. You've got to admit though, the right certainly does their share of hate-spewing.
Keith Olberman can get pretty bad, I'll admit. But his level of vitriol is on par with Rush Limbaugh, and nowhere NEAR the same level of baseless hate as the guy I linked to.

You must not understand hate spewing. Sean Hannity doesn't hate spew, he may be impassioned in what he believes but he doesn't insult and use such derogatory speech that Keith does. Rush the same way. Plus, at least Fox puts liberals in their shows, Hannity is countered by Colmes, whereas Keith is countered by no one so he can just spew all day. Yes, I really hate that guy.
And I split hairs when deciding what a metaphor is when someone posts the definition of a metaphor from a dictionary, which I still don't know why that was done in the first place..

I always just wrote Olbermann off as the left's version of Rush. To be honest, I never watch or listen to these shows anyway. But Rush is at least as hateful as Keith. How can one person be that angry all the time at "liberals"?

Why do you keep insisting that I'm jealous of her? Her family is a fucking wreck. Her daughter obviously can't talk to her about important issues such as family planning. I guess you just can't teach family planning if you have no sense of family planning yourself. She can't figure out how to avoid pregnancy at the age of 44, yet you want her to be second in command?
I also have stated about a hundred times on various forums that I am NOT a fan of Obama. I have no political party because of the simple fact that they are all corrupt to the core.
Do you understand yet, I can not be jealous of a person who's life I think is a firm example of how NOT to run a family. Her entire family is a shining example of lack of communication, lack of birth control (her and her daughter both), lack of intelligence even. Why else would she begin a debate by saying that she would only answer the questions she wanted to answer, could it be that she has no fucking idea about anything else?
The launch button metaphor that you were to thick to get was that if she were ever the one to make an important decision, she would be confused and fuck it up. If she reserves the right to not answer questions that she is asked, she is probably going to reserve the right to not deal with issues she doesn't understand. I'm sure there a lot of issues she doesn't understand, such as the teen pregnancy epidemic in this country. She only has the one pregnant teenager in her house, it's not enough to get her attention yet.
What actions are you speaking of? Saying no to the "bridge to nowhere" yet going ahead and building the road to the bridge to nowhere, or saying no to the bridge after accepting the funding for it?

Her family is her business, not ours. It has absolutely nothing to do with the responsibilities of the Vice President. Petty, irrelevant, and incorrect. I believe you are jealous of her because of the topics you choose to attack her on, it heavily reminds me of the old highschool gossip chicks used to mutter at a popular girl.
Then you should love Palin for firing many, many corrupt officials from office, both republican and democrat. Don't believe me? Look it up.
You believe her family is a bad one? You must not have seen very many families. Personally, I believe that they are happy bunch and all this drama is media created. Also, I don't believe that anyone should "run" the family. The more you try to control someone, the more they are going to rebel. Again, her family is no one's business but her own and has nothing to do with the VP position.
Really. I believe she is perfectly capable of making important decisions on her own and not let the teleprompter make them. You are really harping on this "answering questions she wants to" which I defend Palin on this. She wants to talk about some issues while the media, or Katie's interview, wants to run the show.
