Dense buds question

I'm running 2 1000w lights in a 5x10
Grow tent. The tent is 75 degrees. My plants are ran in Scrog and are roughly 20" away from the lights. Is this too far? Will I end up with fluffy buds? Or should I get them closer? I know you will say, get them as close as you can. But I don't know how close people get them with 1k HPS lights. Any advice would be great. This is my first grow.

What were your temps? I'm 20" away and so far they seem to be liking it
Tbh i didnt keep an eye on temps it was literally trial and error , learn from experience. Im not very experienced so i cant give you the ideal temps hieghts etc. Im sure someone with more know how will give you better advice.

2000Watts for a first grow. Fair play
Go big or go home!!!!!!!
In my experience airy buds is more often caused by too high heat.
I run my 1k at 18-20 so you'll be good. Make sure you have a fan blowing through the space between light and plant

hahaha. Yeah man. Go big or go home. I overkill anything I set my mind to. I'm running a portable in the tent so the temps are 72-75 degrees and the fan in the portable blows between the canopy and lights. I'm running 8" cooled hoods so that helps also. My temps are great. Scrogging on my first grow too and so far so good. In the 3 rd week of flowering and it's looking purdy! I have a grow journal that needs some attention. Will upload more pictures Tuesday. That's good news. Thanks for the reply man

You don't say much about your set up. If you post some details of feed & soil etc the nice folk around here might be able to help prevent you running into problems

Co2 and silica will make sense buds along with cooler temps like 71-73°f being able to do those with extremely close lights and you'll get this and I agree with @Roobarb what all u running what's environment any co2 what nutes and media any additives lol there's a lot that will go into the answer

5x10 room with 2 1000w lights. Hand watering with Emerald harvest nutes. Aurora indica plants. Running 9 plants in Scrog 20" from the lights. I'm not running into any problems right now. That's why I wasn't very specific. Just trying preventative maintenance to make sure I don't end up with airy buds

@Todd Dillinger there is only so much you can do for dense buds, if your environment can support healthy plants (good air flow/adequate intake air/lights not too far away & lights not too close/good roots ect) then genetics will be your limiting factor.

It is genetics and temps. Sativa's tend to be fluffy and indica's hard like a rock. Low to mid 70's for day temps and a few degrees cooler for night.

If you can insulate the pots and keep the root zone cool you can run higher temps. You can run cooler temps if you keep the roots warm.

This is t5 and hard dense bud.

My temps never got above 80.
