Design me a perpetual grow

Ok. I need help designing a perpetual grow. My budget is $2k-$3k. I live in Mass so my limit is 12 plants.

My requirements are as follows:
LED lighting (quantum or otherwise)
Hydro or Aero
Tents must be used I have no spare room.

I do not care about odor.

I plan to grow 4 indica strains that have very similar grow metrics ie space, time and nutrient requirements.

I have a 1200w cob setup before I dont use anymore but could possibly use again but im not opposed to new lighting.

What can I do withing my budget to get the most for my money

What is the size available for tents?

Hydro/Aero will not get the most for your money. Go with coco DTW.

Size is open for discussion, I want to have 4 plants in scrog, 4 in veg and 4 in clone. Hydro or aero is not as inexpensive as coco but i like to dial in my nutrients and coco makes a huge mess you have to deal with. By DTW you talking about a drip system?

Straight to the point lol

been doing this on and off for the last 15 years ( but with hps not leds)
You want the veg room to be half the size of the flower room

The idea is to have 6 clones, 4 in veg and 4 in flower at any stage.

You take clones when you turn the plants over to flower.

keep the best 4 clones and chuck the other 2

clones need a very small place with a small light over the top, I use a 8w t5 tube ( sealed storage box to keep humidity above 80%) change air every day

1.2m x 1.2m would be a good size flower room
and a 60cm x 60cm would be good for the veg room

don't know about leds but I used 250w hps in the veg room and a 600w in the flower room

4x4 or 5x5 for flower. 2x4 for veg, build a little platform to use the bottom 12-18” for clones and have vegging plants on top.

Hydro & Aero are way more finicky and you have to worry about res temps. Unless you plan on running a chiller I wouldn’t bother. Coco gives you the benefit of hydro growth rates and is way more forgiving. I rarely see successful grows with hydro/aero and it’s easy to ruin a crop.

By DTW I do mean a drip system. Dial it in with a timer to get about 20% runoff per feed. Get a small res, submersible pump and manifold and run open 1/4 micro tubing to the plants. Drip emitters will clog.

How do plant limits work in regards to clones, does a non rooted clone count as a plant or do they have to have a root mass to count?

Unfortunately as far as I am aware all clones count towards my limit, however I have a neighbor who wanted clones of my 9lb hammer for a small grow and if i become his medical marijuana caretaker I am allowed to grow for him in his home, ive often debated vegging or cloning at his place and flowering at mine which would double the limit

I used a low pressure aero system for years and it worked amazing, I converted a mini fridge into a chiller and I still have it. I really want to entertain getting a real system though. I almost pulled the trigger on a supercloset trinity but I know I can just build ALOT better for the price.

I understand where you are coming from but im already hooked on the aero, I couldn't imagine growing without at least a basic hydro kit. Id really like to focus on the best led lighting to use (Emerson effect included), and hopefully someone knows what pre-built lights/hydro systems are the "best" (such a relative term).

The difference for me this time is that I want a perpetual grow which ive never done.

Can’t really help you on prebuilt hydro/Aero, I built all the systems myself.

Real easy to build a PVC aero system similar to this and you will save quite a bit to put elsewher

If you want high quality LED’s that are based in the US, go with HLG for QB or Timber COB’s.

If you want more light for your money go with some strips from Meijiu.

I'm also from mass, I am under the impression that the 12 plant count is for mature plants, not veg, clones or seedlings. I could be wrong. But that's how I am following it. lol.

I guess if you look at mass.gov stuff, it says 12 plants. But I have found a few articles and stuff around the web claiming 12 mature plants. If the plant is under 0.3% THC, isn't it considered hemp? How much THC does seedling/veg/clones have? Now that I am actually looking into it further, because they don't clarify mature or not, who knows... but if you look at the CCC guidelines, it says a cannabis plant/product .3% or less is considered hemp.

I guess I was confusing the Mass law with Maine. Oops. LMAO. Oh well. I'll have to make some adjustments to my plans. Good thing I only have 6 going right now hah.

$2,000 Budget Grow
Keep in mind this setup doesn't include air conditioners or anything like that. I threw in the dehumidifier to be safe. Not sure if you have that already under control or not? May consider sticking a Window A/C or even better having a mini-split air conditioner installed into the grow room?
2 x Tents: VIVOSUN Grow Tent 60"x60"x80"
2 x Lights: SPIDER FARMER SF-4000 LED Grow Light 5'x5'
2 x Inline Fans (For air circulation in tents, simply mount into holes at top of tent, no ducting is required): AC Infinity CLOUDLINE S6, Quiet 6” Inline Duct Fan with Speed Controller
Dehumidifier (for room, shoot for 50-55% RH): Vremi 4,500 Sq. Ft. Dehumidifier

Subtotal: $1,979.95

The items above would certainly get you started around your budget. You will still need to purchase the basics like pots, soil etc..

Makes sense being that there is no actual marijuana on it. But growing 12 plants with the legal limit being up to 10oz in a household... I'm sure that would produce "bout a bound" or more lol (Should def be more)

To the OP:
May wanna find a friend that will let you grow in their place other than a neighbor if they don't grow. Can't just be anyone tho.
