Designing my grow room

Well I have started to design my grow room.

The room is 14' x 14' x 8'. It also has a small standard closet.

Today I had an electrician come in and wire a panel, and begin to wire 2 circuts with 4 outlets on each controled by a timer.

I am planning on having 2-4 1000w HPS lights in the main room with 2 MH lights in the closet as a vegitative room. The main room will be for flowering.

I have many questions, to start as this is my first grow.

I plan on putting in a tile floor, and painting the walls with a paint that will resist humidity because from what I understand humidity is a problem.

Will I have problems with the electrical panel because of the humidity? It has been wired with 4 guage wire as a main line. You can probably tell I know next to nothing about electricity. I am worried about burning my house down and want to make sure it doesn't happen. I have seen contraptions that you can hang on the ceiling that can drop a retardant down or something which I plan on buying.

So I wish for some guidance and help in this challenge. Please comment...

The room will be painted on Monday. They will finish the installation of the electrical. I will post pictures again when completed. Then the room will be tiled. After that I will begin the setup of the vent system and light positions.

Your humidity shouldn't be a problem unless you have stuff condensating. Electrical components tend to be hotter than ambient temperature so that's not really a problem. If you want to be on the safe side though just make sure your enclosure that's good for indoor/outdoor.

As for paint most everything these days has mildew resistance. I'd just go with plain old Kilz white and if you need to repaint later you got a good primer.

Thanks for the tips. I just finished with the electrical. I bought some Navajo White, Semi Gloss, stuff used for bathrooms. I think this may help reflecting light, also if there is humidity then it should protect the walls. I am now debating about whether or not to pay the $1000 my guy wants to put down tile. I may just remove the carpet and put black plastic down over the base board. This will be much cheaper and when I want I can install tile. I am eager to get going buying lights, vents, and the hydro system. I bought a 1000 HPS for the closet veg room. Gonna paste over black plastic where the doors were and install a vent.

Next I have to decide wether to go with an Ebb Flow or I was thinking the Auto-Pot method. The results from Auto Pot seem to be awesome, but having never grown I don't know. I guess you have to try it out first to know right. Closet is 5' x 2' so I can't do much here. Small veg room. Main room is 12' x 13' so this will be flower room. I really hope I can do it right. I don't want to be a bust like "my super grow room". I read that whole thread and was disappointed. I sure hope I can get some encouragement on here and some good advice to have it come out great. After everything is wired, (lights, vents, hydro) I will be asking to find out what is the best selling strains in the dispensaries. This will be a profit grow.
