Determining sex.

I am still not used to this site, so point me to articles or video's, since I am having problems with some threads having hundreds of pages. Have watched some video's but want expert advice.

1. Looking to take cutting from plants, and clone to determine sex. Do you have to let some root growth, before going to 12 hours a day, and do they need to be fed?

2. Is there an advantage to letting root, before sexing. Plan on disposing of them, since very little can be gained. Can they be put back to growth? Would that encourage rodelization (stressing plants to become hermaphrodite, to produce feminized seeds)?

3. Any other suggestions - how many leaf sets per cutting, should large sun leaves be removed, etc.?

Thank You, for any suggestions.

Is there an ideal size for clones?? Is a short stalk better than long? I have some around a foot, should it be reduced.

So long as you have a coupla nodes and three-plus leaves, you'll be fine. What's your cloning technique, and how has your success rate been? cn

Just using mason jars to root with PH 6.0 water. Have nutrients, rooting powder and rooting gel, but do not know if they are worth using, just for sexing. Plan on rockwool cubes for clones to grow out. Any suggestions on articles or video's would be appreciated. Have looked at a number on You Tube, but do not know who is right.

If your temps are cool, that should work. The other thing that helps me is to use weak (one 100-equivalent CFL at 18 inches), continuous light. But I am no clone Jedi yet. cn

Is, whether a plants leaves symetrical a reliable sign of females? Have seen a bunch of people who think asymetrical plants are male.
