So using the soaking technique, I soaked the two seeds in a glass of water for 12 hours, then planted them in a small pot with Fox Farms Ocean Forest soil.

White Widow Auto was first in!

The Silver LA was a few days later, we were worried, but it all came out fine! Even though it's a she, we named it Gimli!

I'm still worried about it because of the heat and I know the landlord will notice the spike in electricity. The 400 watts will be in a tent 62"x36"w x20"d, so a little overpower, but I hope that it benefits the 2 plants.

I started with a NL #5 X Haze from Bonza seed and it had bad genetics or something because it grew two leaves then stopped growing. I couldn't even pick up a hint of second leave growth after 18 days in the pot, so I chucked it. Too bad too, because it would have been a high yield plant. Made a friend in the UK on another forum who has sent me well over 100 seeds including big buddha cheese, jack flash, ak47 x ww I think? KC45 auto, and I think five of herbies current freebies a new release, ww X skunk#1 if I remember correctly. Then the rest of course I can't remember lol! So now at least I won't worry like I did when I lost the NL that I only have 5 seeds left lol! From the ones I bought from Bonza, I still have a Skywalker OG Kush, Northern Lights regular, and another Silver LA. That ought to keep me busy for a while.

I might go DWC, just to save on the damn soil LOL! We will see.

Sounds good man. Find out what the electricity rate is. It might make less then you think. i think mine is 11c/kWh. So a 400 watter would be about 6c/hour or .72 per 12/hr cycle or so to operate when you account for the loss in the ballast?

DB, if heat or electrical use becomes an issue, you may want to get a Lumatek digital ballast with Super Lumens settings. I can dial mine down from 400W Super to 400W, to 250W Super and then 250W. There is a good 250W thread here on RIU where people show off their 250W projects...impressive. Your tent is 6" less deep than mine and I know what it takes to keep mine cool enough inside, but still the heat radiates off the tent sides from the light intensity itself, and that heats up the room outside the tent..guess that explains why I do LED's in summer.
