When I went into my grow room about an hour ago, I noticed the hood fan was not running and it was actually frosted on the bottom of the fan housing and moisture galore dripped from the outside of the hose. ( From the Bathroom in take all the way to way to the fan housing..maybe 5 feet. )
Bathroom intake is under an awning about 6 feet from any water source and too high and dry for any splashing. The whole area around the intake was nice and dry...and it has a shield to protect from any horizontal rain / snow attack.
It was snowing / raining for awhile today and the inlet pipe was freezing actually had to turn the heat on.
Waited for a few minutes after unplugging and removing ducting and checking fan housing for any sight of internal water damage....just seemed to affect the outside but the fan still stopped ?
It was maybe an hour before I noticed the stoppage since the last time I was back there messing around and it was running then. But who knows what happened in that hour ?
Inside of ducting and fan housing seem to be nice and dry and no water got to the light maybe another 2 feet away ( All I need is a 1000 watt exploding..lol )
Anyway after waiting I plugged it back in ... it started up !
I just checked it for a second in case there was any moisture I missed...but it seemed to be running fine.
I have it off now until I can look at it more closely tomorrow ( And I need help taking it down and disassembling it )
Lights off...gave them a nice bath to make up for the heat wave...was almost 90 f...just that quick ! From 72 to 90 in a blink of an eye..no to mention the RH.
Also making a window box so I can divert intake from outside to inside on days like these.
Cold and humid.
I'm not sure about the fan though...seemed to work when I tested it...but I don't like taking chances.
Would ice freeze it up ?
Light is off until 3pm tomorrow so I can have friend take a look at it and help me reduct it if it does indeed still work right.
Maybe it has a reset or something ?
Electronics that stop without me knowing why make me nervous.
