Did i plant my seed upside down??

Okay so when the seed germinated i planted it 1 and half inches in the soil with the sprout white thing facing down into the soil..

please tell me nothings wrong :(

How many days till i see the thing poke through the dirt?

to deep move it closer to the top 3/4 inch or so and your good...when/if it sprouts the shell part might still be on the "plant" you can just carefully take it of to let the light hit the little leafs..maybe 5 days

Hey Jesus,

To actually answer your initial question, I first need to ask you a question: Had the root curled yet? Or was it sticking straight out?

Either way, to correctly plant the germed seed, have the end where the root first sprouted from (pointier end) facing up toward the surface of the medium. The root then curls downward and pushes up the cotyledons.

If you had no curl yet, and you planted it with the tap root down, the little guy has to expend much more energy. The root will still curl, but the wrong way. It is much debated as to how it figures out which way is up, but it then has to curl around a second time burning much energy and wasting time.

Take a look @ the pic. It explains it pretty well.

Wow thanks! i just hope it grows >.< i dont know.. i stuck it facing down..
