Did I Top My 8wk Old Plant Right?

So I just topped my plants, and they are all around 8 weeks old, They're outdoor plants, so They're kinda small. But the thing is, I've been looking at all the people who top their plants, and they cut right above the internode, well, with mine, I took off the entire tiny top stem piece. I accidentally took the tiny fan leaf off with it, but will this still work the same way as if I were to have cut it a little higher?? Please answer!

Yes you did

Bro that's sick, yeah thanks a lot for clearing my mind on that lol, and is the cut stem part supposed to turn black like that?
thats the only thing I noticed a little off but if it doesn't start spreading through your stem you should be fine could be possible infection from unsterilized scissor that would slow down growth for a couple days. IMO I'm no expert by any means.

I tend to pinch the 4 highest shoots, with my thumb and fore finger, try to keep the set of leaves alone. This can be done each week or 2,up to 10 weeks or so
