Diesel Lowrider Grow

Right, i'm fed up of giving my money to others for my weed so i'm attempting to grow it myself.

The pictures below are at the end of weeks 1, 2 and 3 respectivly of 1 plant. initially had 5, one in the greenhouse in soil and the others indoors with in a rockwool medium. the 4 in the rockwool died after week one from what i suspect was a high concentration of chlorine in my tapwater. the one in the greenhouse however was watered on rainwater and as a result is comming on nicely. i have also just introduced a very weak 1 part nutrient solution that seems to be speeding up the growing process in the last week.

anyway i'll keep this thread updated as often as possible and will no doubt be asking the experts for their opinions if i get any problems.

Thanks for reading.

End of Week 3 Picture update.

My plant has now been transplanted into the NFT System and seems to be ok despite my concerns of not having enough roots to go into an NFT.

Also i've noticed what look like preflowers including pistols at the node sites. is this common for a plant this small, i was under the impression that this doesn't come untill a later stage of Veg?

yes, set to 18/6 currently and the timer is working. the website i bought the seeds from advatised as auto flowering plants. i thought this was just a statement to rope necomers into buying that particular seed but i gues they were right. ever heard of this before? if so are you aware of any positives / negatives.

pistols are now well established but plants only about 6" tall. oh well, i think i'll leave it untill it reaches a foot tall before i switch to 12/12. What do you think?

End of Week 5 and i need a little advice. the pistols on the very top of the plant are turning amber at the tips. isn't this a sign that harvest time is near? is there any other reasons for this symptom as my plant is still on 18/6 and is only about 9" tall.

should i switch to 12/12 or wait untill its about a foot?

Cheers.

Lowryders are meant to germ-harvest in 8 weeks give or take, so thats about right mate. They are meant to be short plants, and do not yeild too much.

lowriders dont need 12/12 they will go all the way thru their life cycle wit 24/0. auto-flowerin plants, you kan keep it on 18/6 but u should bump it up to 24/0 b4 u go.

oh dear, didn't read your reply before i went so it ended up on 12/12.

anyway i'm back from hols and it looked as though it was ready for harvesting...so i did. 7 weeks and 1 day. plant is still small and hasn't really grown anymore, only filled out. nice buds but to get a lot you definatly need more than one plant.

think my next baby is going to be a larger variety in hope for a little higher yeild and obviously more plants. anyway in conclusion i'm happy for my first attempt.

Thanks for the advice everyone, i'll get another journal set up when my seeds arive (ordered already). the strain is called Akorn (also known as snowbud). never heard of it before but i like to gamble.

Anyone tried it????
