Vegging is a period in which the plants concentrates on growing (becoming mature). In nature this is determined by the amount of light the plants receive. Spring and Summer the plants receive more sunlight. That is why it is said during veg cycle you give the plants more lights 18 hours light 6 hours of darkness.

Flowering is a period in which the plant concentrates on reproduction. Growing flowers and producing pollen. In nature this is also determined by the amount of light the plants receives. During fall and winter as the says get shorter (Less sunlight) the plants switches from a veg state to flower state. 12 hours light and 12 hours darkness.

In short you utilize a vegging period to get your plant to a certain height and maturity. Then when you are satisfied with the height you switch light cycle and trigger the flowering stage.

During the flowering stage the plant will reveal its sex. Either a male or female. The female plant is what you want.

Hope this explanation helps

Thnks alot really appreciate da help keico, patiently awaiting the arrivial of my beans.
Another thing to consider is during veg the plant needs more nitrogen and a blue spectrum light such as T5 flourescents or metal halide(MH). During flower feed it more phosphorous and use HPS lighting
