Different Lights

I have been talking to some friends about different kinds of lights and have come across the argument of different wattage lights are used for different stages of the plants growth.
I have a 400w HPS and was going to use it for my aeroponic systems light but was told that it was a flowering light.

should i purchase another light for the veggie state for the little clones or will the 400w work all around?

Don't put the 400 on clones to root them you'll fry them. Use a 13-23 watt cfl (6500K) is best but any will work and yes once the clones are rooted you can veg with your 400hps. Unless you have money to burn then sure why not go buy yourself a nice 250 MH. But if on a budget a 400hps will do start to finish. Good growing.

Sounds like you are going to need to buy more lights no matter what.

You can grow from seed to harvest with a hps light. You also can put a mh bulb in a hps socket!

as long as they mh/hps has that capabilty as far as i know, i just would take a mh lite n stick it into my hps.. not gonna work

HPS will take a mh bulb
MH will not take a hps bulb.
Must be the same wattage for a h to work in a hps. It will work in any hps.
