Diff's 2nd Indoor Grow (250 watt HPS)

Alright... i'm currently about 6 1/2 weeks into flower on my first grow... I feel pretty good about how it's gone, the link to it is in my sig...

I feel pretty good about it overall.. Started w/ MG potting soil, which caused me some lingering problems until i repotted in FFOF... I learned from that lesson... No my MG for me...

I will be using only FFOF this time, w/ Grow Big and Big Bloom.. Probably start adding the Grow Big about week 2 or so... I'm pretty sure veggin' under some flouresents for 2 weeks is the way to go, rather than slapping them right under the 250 watt HPS from the start... Good thing, because my ladies are still using the 250 watter.. lol

Anyways... I hope to harvest my first grow in around 2-4 weeks... hopefully closer to 2... That way this 2nd round can go right under the HPS once I harvest round 1 and clean the room...

I have germinated some more bag seed for this run... I will probably look to go w/ some feminized seeds next time, but I'm just not willing to spend the money on seeds yet until I get this down to almost a science...

Germinated seeds (6 of them, 3 different bag seeds) have been placed in their initial pots.. Darkness for them until I see them poking through, then the flouresents will be switched on...

Okay, so they are two weeks old since sprout from soil (Dec 2nd)...

Looking pretty good, had some try to stretch some on me, but i managed to stop it and actually move them a bit further down into the soil w/ some real steady hands and tough work... No damage, they are doing fine since I did it...

Started in FFOF soil... Wondering If i should start feeding nutes soon... Guy at the hydro shops always say it has enough in it to feed seedlings for a month, but i've read otherwise on here...Diluted strength at 2 weeks is the concensus from my readings...

Doing good, working on 2-3 sets of leaves not counting the coletyone ones... however you spell that shit...

Repotted the 6 babies today, just got finished actually... I watered yesterday, thus they were pretty easy to transplant... all except one that I knew was gonna be tough... It kinda fell over a couple days after sprouting through the soil and i had to prop it up w/ some more soil... built like a mountain of dirt around it.... it continued to grow, but once i tried to transplant it, the root/stem appears to of snapped right underneath the first set of leaves... looks like it's a gonner...

Got 2 4' shop light fixtures (2 40w bulbs each) hooked up and cranking some light onto them... Since the soil was fairly moist, i want to give them til 2mor and then i will introduce them to some nutes + water....

Also mixed some perilite in w/ the FFOF... Not a whole lot (i will go about 25% perilite/75% FFOF in final pots), but a nice layer at the bottom of the pots so i can continue on the same watering schedule i had for my first grow... about every 3-5 days... the perilite should help me be able to continue that without any setbacks...


Still little babies... wanted to get them under the HPS by now, but the first harvest still isn't done yet... Either way, i will veg this 2nd set for 2-3 weeks under the HPS before i start flowering... Even if they veg for 4-5 weeks under the CFL's before the 1st harvest is done... IDK at this point... I had some extra room for bigger plants (vegged for 4 weeks the first grow.. 2 under cfls... 2 under hps).... so maybe a 6-8 week veg time, sexing before flowering, will make for a better yield and some nicer plants...

Battling what appears to be some slight nute burn from the first feeding I gave them after transplant... guess i should have waited a few days... Nothing major, so i'm just keepin' an eye on them... If it gets worse in the next 24 hours, i'll flush, but i don't think it will be neccessary...

Not really where i'd like them to be for 18 days, but oh well, that's bag seed right? Never know what ya' gonna' get? eh? ...

Had to hit the babies w/ a flush a couple days ago due to the slight nute burn that occured when I gave first feeding... they seem to have recovered, all but the largest plant... go figure

The plant that snapped and fell over, somehow, someway has stood back up... it's first 2 sets of leaves crinkled up and are dieing, but the new growth is green and lush... unbelievable...

So i've still got 6 plants... 1 being the one that fell over (keeping my fingers crossed on that one)... 4 are short, bushy and very healthy looking, got a nice clean transplant on all of them... the last being the large plant that showed the signs of nute burn first... It hasn't really improved, so i'm not sure what's gonna come of it....

I will be introducing nutes again today as the plants are about double the size they were when i originally gave them some food... we'll see how it goes...

I'll try to post some pics of the babies tonight as well as the two plants in flower...

Merry XmAS, Happy Holidays 2 everyone...

Fed w/ 1/4 strengh nutes on 12/24.... all plants took well to it and have just about tripled in size since under 2 40watt CFL's...... they're pushing 4 weeks old (which is where i flowed last time)... I may go 2 months with these, to increase yield w/ same ammount of plants...


On a side note, i sampled a small popcorn bud from the first grow that still isn't finished... dried on top HPS for 3 days... dry as hell.. smoked it and it wasn't harsh and had a real nice taste to it... more of a heady high, but w/ a few more weeks it should be coughlock...

First grow still hasn't finished (smaller hermed plant is currently drying, larger plant still might use HPS lamp for 1-2 weeks)...

So the second round of babies (6, again) are 38 days old... They are between 7 and 12 inches tall, with secondary growth exploding at this point... First grow had 14 days of veg under CFLs and 14 days of veg under HPS... So these have allready surpased the total veg time from the first grow... 28 days as compared to the current 38 days of veg...

I will probably veg them on 18/6 for a week under the HPS before going to 12/12... plant size and yield should double due to the increased veg length this time around...

Allready smoked a few popcorn nugs from the harvested plant (left out on rolling tray for a day) and it was dry enough to smoke... great taste and a nice high to go along w/ it.... I laugh as i pick off the small pieces of bud that are stuck to my finger after breaking it up... lol...

1st grow has concluded (roughly 4 ounces dry from 2 plants)....

That means this 50 day old babies (ranging from 8 inches to about 20 inches tall) are ready to be put into flower... They suffered some somewhat severe bottom leaf yellowing/dieing due to the grow room w/ sufficient lighting not being ready (1st round still in flower)...

Giving them a heavy feeding of Grow Big and slapping them under the HPS tonight....

Haven't updated in about 3 weeks... I'm about 2 1/2 weeks into flower now... 2 of the 6 ended up being male, so i'm left w/ 4 nice ladies!!! 4/6 female this round as compared to 2/6 female the first go...

I must say.. the smoke from my first grow (larger plant that didn't herm in particular) is AMAZING!!! 2-5 hits, depending on your lung capacity (hehe), and you're locked to the couch for a couple hours... very good for playing video games and messing around on the computer...

I will try to update a bit better than I have the last few weeks...

hey man howd this grow finish out man?

This was 8 years ago, but these 4 girls never made it to the end. We had a scare (why I stopped growing for years) and I had to make everything disappear quick.

I forgot my 2nd grow was posted on here, just found it. Figured i'd close it out, even though on a sour note.
