Dinafem Blue Amnesia XXL- 2nd grow

I have a similar post to this under the category Grow Journal, but it has gotten no attention. Maybe this is the best place for it. Anywho... this is my second grow. I have a 2×4 foot tent lit with a Mars Hydro 300w LED. The soil is a mix of 60/40 Fox Farm's Ocean Forest/garden dirt in a 20L pot and I will use FF's trio of nutrients. The Blue Amnesia XXL bean by Dinafem was sprouted from seed on July 24th. It has been amazing to watch grow. As opposed to my photoperiod bagseed, this dude has been crazy to watch so far. This morning the third set of leaves growing were tiny and by lunch were almost as big as the others. I'm not sure about what else to put for now, but will upload all the photos I have and continue to post in both threads. Any help is welcome and I'm open to ridicule/shit giving. This plant continues to amaze. It is growing very fast and changing every day. There will be a new set of leaves in the morning, and by bed time those leaves will be bigger! I'm super excited that i chose this as my second grow, though I'm definitely ready to start my grow idea after this. Using a feminized Pineapple Express or GG#4×WW to start in a 2×4 tent, I wish to take clones that I can scrog grow in a 4×4, or possibly bigger, and once big enough snip a clone from them to restart in my 2×4 tent. Kind of perpetual.

What net yield & number of plants did u get with the Mars 300 (I’m assuming u only use one light) ???

This is my first time using the Mars. Before, I used 4 indoor/outdoor 90w 4800k bulbs in desk lamps for veg and 120w 2700k for flower. I didn't weigh it either, but probably around an oz. on 1 bagseed plant

Not positive that it is noticeable here, but the first set of multi-fingered leaves is yellowing without wilting. The true leaves have half crisped and are yellow too. I'm fearing aphids, as they got my cucumbers outside and this is partially garden dirt. I will be getting my magnifying glass out to look and treat the issue. Other than that, she is still going up and out. We decided her name is Charlotte

No sight of aphids yet. Hopefully they were just a fear. The bottom 5-fingered leaves are still faded in color, but still look and act very lively. No wilting. She is showing a few pistils here and there at the beginning of week 5 . I spotted the first pair last week and thought I was seeing shit had to do more reading on autos to figure out that's when it's supposed to happen for them. I have yet to do more than water every morning. She took 20 oz like a champ yesterday and was dry this mornin, so I'll up the fluids soon. I'm not positive if I should give her a few nutes to grow on or not. The FFOF soil is supposedly hot, so I don't want to over do it accidentally and screw up my grow. Not to mention, my soil was incredible looking compared to what I see in the cotton field. Dark and had that smell that tingles your nose with a good stench, and tons of organic matter to speak of, so I'm sure it is feeding well... though I'm tempted to dash some Big Bloom in, at 1/4 strength, with the next watering and see what she does. Anyway, here's a couple pistil shots!

I've got it 12-18 inches away as the instruction manual had said for growth and I'm supposed to get it to within 12 inches for flowering.

End of week 5. She doesn't seem to be growing much. I know I have a while left, but I would think it would be a bigger plant by this stage. It has pistils from bottom to top and I thought I saw some trichs on some leaves, but I just took a quick shot and haven't actually looked. Here's to hoping she gets a bit bigger!

Well fuck... end of week 6 and I found 4 male flowers on my girl. Probably because of temperature fluctuations. You can tell everyone until your blue in the face to "leave the air conditioning on," but once you leave for work they pay no mind. Horseshit!

She seems to have stalled around week 5-6 and has put on a ton of pistils. Not much upward growth lately. I'm wondering if maybe the pot is too big for this plant and if I should have used a different medium mix. On Dinafem's website, there are instructions for growing that suggest using 30% coco coir in a soil mix. It's a bit late to use that information here, but I still have two more beans to try with. I'll keep posting and see what happens.

End of week 7. She's still small, but packing on the bud quickly up and down the main stem. I wish for more physical growth but I think that's passed. I'm going to say the pot she's in is too big and most of her growth stayed below the surface. It sucks but you live and learn. Since coming to this conclusion, I figured I may as well do what I can to maximize bud production. So, I added a few lights to the sides to get her lit up all over.

From my understanding, the XXL line is supposed to produce as much as any photo plant. Mine is a little over a foot tall, but I still think it's because of the huge pot it is in. More growth under the surface than there is above the surface.

That's just going to be a big main cola. I'm trying to find the best all around auto that grows like this for sog. I want like 20-30 in 1 gal coco. 1oz each plant

Agreed. This one will be one main, but I think if it had vegged right there would be 5 total. There are 4 small kolas coming off the bottom, but I'm sure they won't grow much. Gonna pop another in a smaller container and see if I get better results. I'll also be adding coco to the substrate mix (Dinafem suggestion).

Hey Swish, ive been keeping my eyes open as well for this growth type auto and while id reallly need to research them, Frank Nitty grew a Gas N Guns that looked very main cola with almost no other colas from what i seen in the pics.

End of week 8 or day 63 from seed. Still hardly any upward growth, but the bud is still building. I felt it this morning and the buds are rock hard, and leaves an excellent smell on the fingers. Trich scheck this morning also. Mostly cloudy with a small hint of bronze. I've started flushing today as well. I'm thinking that she'll finish up before or right at the 75 day mark. Not a lot to go on, but I'm gonna start another in a smaller pot with straigh FFOF and some coco instead of garden dirt mixed with FFOF.

Since your using synth nutes and indoor i'd suggest more coco this try. Make sure the bottom of your pot has plenty of drainage.
