It’s business cal and I hate it. It’s not terrible but I’m trying to get an A so I don’t have to take the final so it’s sucking up a lot of time. I’m right there on the line.

Yeah, luckily math teachers run in my family so it wasn't too hard. Don't ask me how to write a paper though. LOL. Your girls are looking good. Keep it up.

The ladies are doing great. My water temps were getting pretty high about 77. I bought a 1/10 chiller. My humidity was pushing 85% today so I had to get a dehumidifier. So the temps are holding steady at 79, the res. temp is a nice cool 68 and the humidity is at 50%.
These are the biggest plants I’ve ever grown and they are only 2 weeks into flower. I can’t wait to see the harvest. They do have a little leaf curl but I’m hoping the addition of the chiller will straighten that out.

So i went to Lowes tonight to buy these supplies you used and lets just say i walked out empty handed... LOL. i could not figure it out for the life of me... finding the correct gasket stopped me from buying the stuff, so i walked and i think the guys knew what was up when i needed help. They asked me what i was building and i told them it was a home water filtration system. LOL. It seemed to fit the description but they gave me a weird look. I need to change my setup and i think i'll stick with the tubing, unless you have specific part numbers on hand..

I always tell people I’m making water features for my yard.

What size are considering, the 3/4 lines or 1 1/4? The 3/4 o-rings Lowes has in the sink repair section. It’s a #18 o-ring it has a 15/16 i.d. I’ll look for a package this afternoon. The 1 1/4 o-rings I got from a local industrial supplier. You can find them online if you can’t find them locally.

If you go with the 3/4 you can use regular pvc fittings for the bulk head but if you are going to do 1 1/4 or bigger I’d suggest using electrical conduit pvc. I’ll be using it when I add 2 more buckets. It isn’t tapered like water pvc is so it tightens a lot easier.



Make sure you get threaded/slip on the pvc.

Use schedule 40 pvc pipe because it’s thicker.

Gona have to look into something better than the simple water heater I got for my bubble cloner then.....Idk maybe check the temps first might be right on or close too...we'll see here in the near future. Keep the updates coming bro!

Your system and girls look great. I noticed that there are no true unions or ball valves to isolate each bucket separately to deal with maintenance or emergency. Was that part of your original plan? I have always grown in soil and just started my first in 12 years, just to get back on the horse if you will, but am seriously considering this method for my next grow. Most of the hydroponic systems seem to share many characteristics that aquariums do. I have always run multi component reef systems and found that being able to isolate each component made maintenance and overall system performance much better. Curious as to your thoughts...thx

I did originally plan to have ball valves at each bucket. After hours of web searching and reading I decided I didn’t need them as small as my system is. I figured no more than I’m going to be looking at the roots by the time I noticed a problem with one it will probably be on them all any way. So I saved the expense and the planning headaches.

I don’t know anything about aquariums and didn’t know much about hydro before this so I can’t say what similarities they share. I can say that my systems are simple to build. The hard part is figuring out the parts list. I’ll never go back to dirt. I may put some mother plants in dirt but no more. There is no comparison in the growth rate. For the first time 4 years I’m worried about the height in my grow room. I’m sure I’ll be ok but I’ll be taking 3 or 4 inches out of my table legs when these ladies are done.

Well I went on a trip so I was away from my room for 4 days and everything still looks good.
They all started out at about 8” today the Northern Lights is 22”, both Satori are 31” and the AK47 is 32 1/2" tall.
Here they are at 26 days in flower.
I stopped adding co2 yesterday. The exhaust fan now kicks on 15 min for every hour. This drops the temps from 82 to 75. It dropped so much because the dehumidifier doesn’t run anywhere near as much now. RH is setting around 55%.

Ladies are starting to fatten up a bit so I’ve added a few pics.


The ladies are looking good for 34 days. I ran out of Cal Mag and didn’t use it last time. I’ve noticed a little mag deficiency especially in the AK so I picked some up for this change. I also upped the PPM to 1736. It was actually higher but I added a little more water to bring it down. So my flower bed will get about 4 gallons of good nutes tomorrow. Oh they all do have tip burn from the nutes but I haven't noticed any other burn problems.


The northern lights is getting left behind. Its 22” tall and the other 3 are all 34” tall. I’ll probably do a SCROG next time. I’ve got what looks like 7 or 8 10” plus colas already. There are at least 3 14” colas.

The NL takes 50 days in dirt so hopefully it’s almost ready but it is pretty far from the light so it may take a few more days. The AK and Satori both usually finish by day 65 in dirt so I’m hoping it’ll be about the same in the hydro.

My plan is to put the NL in a simple 5 gal dwc to flush it so I don’t have to let it go 14 days longer than it needs.bongsmilie

Yea it’s looking like it’s going to blow my previous best away. I just can’t wait for the shit to get done. My last harvest ran out about 5 days ago. I don’t think I’ll have that problem with this harvest.

Don't think you'd be running out of meds to early this time it seems like you are going to have and excellent harvest... great job!

Yea makes me wish I would have started with hydro in the first place. But at least now I understand what the plants need and how read the plants as they grow. If that makes any sense. Plus I built some raise veggie beds this year and the soil mixture I used was basically the same mixture I used in my room. I’m betting I have the best looking veggies in the neighborhood.
