I would bet if the US even did a 2 year trial run on legalizing weed, JUST WEED, our debt would be in half. Like you said we spend billions on drug control, so lets say 100s of millions on just weed, so now were 16 trillion dollars in debt (http://www.usdebtclock.org/), now you can fire the fuck ups who get paid to look for plants, and bring in huge amounts of tax dollars.
