Last year in Huntington Beach, my buddy had givin me an ounce of what he said was disco ball! Anyone ever heard of it...not spicy disco but disco ball! It was plump purple frosted flowers? Where is it? Maybe he got the strain name wrong? He is a old deadhead from humbolt and knows his shit but I can't find info anywhere on this.

Yes. I know the grower of disco ball. It's grown here in Santa cruz. I forget the exact story but they got a cut of what was supposed to be lavender (I think) but it wasn't lavender after all. I think they said they crossed it with something and it was super crystally so they called it disco ball. Genetics unknown. I forget the exact story but something along those lines.

Wow! The funny thing is I was starting to think he was mistaken, in fact It might have been crossed with lavender, the taste was somewhat Hidden within it! These buds were plump super coated an light purple mainly from the triche coverage! Me and wife and brother smoked it in like 3 days..We kept saying "lets go get purple-aided" it was a nice plant you can tell him I was loving it! It should be out there! I am glad to have smoked it!

I haven't seen him since last summer. I just bump into him once in a while. Next time I see him, I'll get the story again and make sure I got it straight..

The more I think about it I think it might have been a Blue Berry or Blue Dream that the unknown cutting was crossed with. I think the original name was Blue Disco Ball, but it didn't really taste BB, so name got cut to Disco Ball.

Also, they are old deadheads, so the circle sounds right..

Awesome! My buddy is an old schooler that my family has known for 25years he used to sell to my old man before he passed, good people and always came through with the best smoke! He would get from northern Cali usually, so Santa Cruz doesn't sound far off. I am certain we are on the same page... Thanks for the update and info!
