dish soap for bugs

Anyone use dawn dish soap for bugs? A friend suggested my trying this also claims to use it once a week for prevention of mites.Im in 4 weeks since going 12/12 was told to spray under leaves before lights out.Ihave some good buds going and dont want to screw up.Also what ratio soap to water? I posted in plant problems had over 100 views no comments.Any help is appreciated. Dozer

i know it works for most houseplants that have spider mites and as long as you aren't exposing the foliage to any unnecessary burn from the water you should be okay using just a tiny bit of dishsoap mixed in a spray bottle of water.
i would probably do it before their night cycle so the light doesnt concentrate on the wet foliage.

use Dawn. its fairly gentle, and actually kills bugs, including mites. once your plant gets somewhat mature, you can spray daily, with a fine mist. so i hear

I prefer to use Dr Bonners. Any mild soap will do, but Dr B peppermint is known to kill fleas (by clogging their breathing pores). The essence of his soaps is oil, so I would imagine any would work.

Very light mix. Leave it on for ~ 10 minutes then use a fine mist to remove. Cover the grow pot to capture any surviving eggs

ive used this method before and it actually did kill most of my mites for a few weeks before i switched to safer soap. i used 1 tablespoon dawn per gallon of water.

well I figure if they use it on all the marine mammals and birds when there is an unfortunate oil spill it seems like it would be okay for weed.

any input on using during flower.I am 30 days since switch to 12/12 buds are starting to take off should i avoid spraying the buds and when should i stop using ? Growing purple kush in soil I think flower time is about 9 weeks thanks

There are numerous ways to make organic insecticides. Need oil, baking soda and dish soap at 1TBS per gallon water. Shake well. I would advise a test spray on 1 or 2 leaves. The oil covers the little buggers, the soap acts as a emulsifier.

I just use neem oil and dawn dish soap works great never have issues

I will use pesticides and or safe soap during veg but in flowering I’ll just buy some live predatory insects and let them go in the tent. Each type of insect needs to be treated a little different but Imo it is much easier to use insects than pesticides and in flower it is safer
