Dispensaries in the Springs

So I'm new to the springs and the dispensary scene but been burning green for 10+yrs. Originally from NY and when we moved here I expected to see the dankest nugs ever! Well so far Ive been to about 7-10 different shops and have been quite dissapointed with the quality. Most all the shops had small light fluffy popcorn buds and only one(Drs. Orders) acutally had some tight hard big bud. Strawberry fields had probably 20lb of bud and the biggest nug in the jar MIGHT have been 1.5g. Maybe my expectations were too high but where the tight hard buds at? The stuff I got back in NY(probably wasnt from NY) was on average better than the stuff I find here. I have about a 1/4 of my own stuff from my last round but will have to buy for a couple months till my first round finishes. Anyone know what all the buds are so small light and fluffy?

Go to the tree house and demand the PK KONG.

Yeah they all pretty much suck. I mean obviously there are good buds to be found but usually the accompanying price is asinine...

some stores don't have big buds because they make their trimmers chop all the stick out of it there for only leaving little buds. I felt ashamed of the big beautiful buds they made me chop up commercial trimming. Their claim to shut me up was that old people cannot break up the week with sticks it because it will poke through their skin....

I'd say only about 5% of the people that come through our place would want a big bud. Almost
all of them have us trim any sort of stick leaf or anything they don't like out before we sell it to them.
We just collect the stuff and throw it in with bubble later.

I love bags full of popcorn buds and big ass stems, for street prices. Said no one ever.....
The dispensary game in springs is a joke, they have a long way to go yet, grow your own.

I'm with ya sahtiva ... I don't mind a stem if it's crammed into a thick ass dense nug. My last grow had I'll popcorn fluffy buds at the bottom but even if u cut out the stems the top nugs were still hard chunkers. I seriously think they keep all the beefy nugs for themselves and rest goes to patients. Makes me wanna open my own shop bc my wife has smoked 10-15 different kinds from different shops and still comes back to the home grown as her favorite. I'll be holding onto all 15 plants the doc gave me n not signing them over to a dispensary

trimming out the main stem is common at all shops, it's a waste of weight. buds are buds, whether they are arm size colas or the size of 25cents. there is no difference in high either, so why care that u are getting shorted on stems that do nothing for you? i understand the 'visual' aspect of a beastly cola, but no one buys em. they want as much smokable material as possible.

I dont think anyone was talking about the literal size of the buds, just that it has no density and in general sucks ass.
No one likes receiving stems, I think the complaint here is too many, no one wants more stems. The visual aspect of a nice
fat bud is awesome and all but I'm saying that there is no quality... at all... almost EVERY place here throws out shitty fluffy
buds with little THC for insane prices.... what quality?


EDIT: Upon second review I'm sure the OP is talking about pure size... I was always just referring to size as a factor included in determining "quality" however its not the ONLY reason I think all local dispensaries are mostly shit... just one of the reasons.

If u take the main cola and cut out the thick stem it grew on the nug thats left over is still dense as fuck. If u claim it's just bc they cut out the stem then I guess in turn that makes the nugs fluffy? Don't think so. Light fluffy nugs come from lower branches that don't see much light. All my main buds are hard as fuck and if u cut out the stems get smaller hard nugs. I don't care if the buds are smaller but they better be dense.

I guess you could change my initial complaint(even though I've had small buds weighing 2+gs) to why are all the buds light popcorn fluffy nugs? I still have the same eary feeling... The best "choice" go to the growers/staff n what's left over goes in jars on the shelves. On average I received better quality green back in NY than Ive purchased here in the springs. I for sure won't be buying from any shops once my first batch finishes up
