Yeah, it's 10,000 clone cuttings that a study suggests a 99.999% chance a mutation of statistical significance has occurred in that pheno

A lot of it has to do with the strain I think, then its environmental conditions drying, storage, and cure. Colorado dispensary bud is generally mediocre, you'd think we'd have our shit together by now. Every so often you find a good consistent strain but most of it smokes like mids.

i was smoking some 24% for a few weeks then got some 16% of another brand

there was no noticeable difference in the initial rush, the high or the duration of the high save for the 16% high finishing off just a bit weaker

it wouldn't seem to affect my consumption or the high which i was very surprised to find out

considering i smoke two ounces a month and can only afford the ocs preground, the only thing i have to worry about is why one preground from one company tastes not bad, and another from another company tastes like ground up crayons o_O

Look at a dispensary bud under a loupe.. Looks to me like it was run thru a sifter for concentrates..
I know exactly what you mean. I've seen trim machines that collect what's been trimmed off for use in other applications. I mean it makes sense that you use everything you can but the machines definitely take off more than I would hand trimming. All that rough handling means there is no way to get as many in tact trichomes as you would if you were handling the material with care.

You have to remember that most home growers cut one or more corners in places they "don't care" about, and once someone sees the dispensary and then thinks about that PITA dealer with the <leafy/wet/bone dry/fluffy/moldy/hit or miss quality> bud they just go get it from the dispensary and pay too much.

Flowers tested after harvest and first dry. BY OWNER. The rest is set for re moisture and then sent to buck. After that. Large tops are separated from the rest. I’d say 80% goes thru the machine. The nice ones are hand trimmed. Even the hand trimmed. Iv seen trimmers handle nugs so fucked up. Even scraping the flower intentionally on the screen. It then goes to packaging when it’s weighed and packaged. And those foil bags are slim as fuck. Eighths are smashed in those bitches. And that’s where I trim at. I know other places that send their stuff off to a separate private packaging company. But At the end of the day. Those numbers you see on the package are more than likely testing done BEFORE all that handling is done. And from what iv seen. It’s a rough road for nugs man. Super rough before it ends up in your bowl.

No, nothing to do with clones. Two things are pushing the pretty dramatic drop in dispo bud quality over the past 20 years. First, everyone and their mother are trying to get in on green rush. When a new state goes legal, it's a mad rush to open facilities and make that sweet first year bank on sales. These big outfits cut every corner possible to churn out crops as fast as they can. The reason homegrown cannabis is so much better (or should be) is because we can take the time to grow out crops to peak ripeness, choose quality genetics, and slow dry, among many other things.

Shit, where I m from ounces at dispos with no discount are $400+.....with discounts and specials theyve been running it ranges 200-360.....ive only done 1 home grow and my home grow was the beat stuff I smoked all year.

These places over charge, grow like shit, and dont cure their bud, it goes from being trimmed - straight to the jar/bag theyre selling it in and directly onto the shelf. Not to mention its quick dried.

Skipping steps and/or half assing them leads to shitty product.

This thread reminded me that a friend gave me a bag of dispensary weed a couple weeks ago when they came over since they've been leaching off me for so long. I told them I didn't want it but they insisted and it was only $18 1/4 oz. It's been in a drawer and I just opened it up and am smoking a bowl right now. It tastes ok and is giving me a nice buzz. It might not be the best but it's decent weed. For the majority of cannabis smokers that don't live in the "Top Shelf" bubble it perfectly good weed and as strong as they want it to be.

I'm sure the quality and prices vary from state to state and country to country but around here the dispensary weed is both good and cheap.

I wish I could get $18/7 grams! I got 3 eighths of sherb for $100 and considering it's usually $80~ a quarter I thought it was a decent deal.

It looks like It might be in a different league from what you posted but I'd gladly pay $18 for what you posted.

Now I'm kind of mad that they gave me the low budget stuff. I'll be sure to give them some old dried up weed that's been sitting around for a year next time they stop buy and ask for a handout.

Forgive me if this is a stupid question but I am truly ignorant to the legal market and its growing practices. My brother keeps getting bud from random head shops here in NY and every single one (He's tried maybe 20+ strains) just smells like chemical pine sol. I love pine and lemon smell but this doesn't smell like a good chem but it does smell like chemicals in an industrial way. Just wondering what the common denominator in these nugs are and if it is a form un additive/spray to make up for lack of terps? Just trying to gain some knowledge.

I buy some dispo flowery every once in awhile. Last time it was powder dry. I contacted the distributor and discovered that batch, designated by bar code, had been in someone else's storage for about a year and a half. The weed caused mold to grow inside my glass bong in just a few days.

Every strain he has gotten has smelled the exact same like "bad kill you chemical" not good Chem strain. I am very used to smelling different strains that is why I am asking this question. Like I said, I love pine/lemon but this stuff doesn't smell right and there is no way that 20 different strains all smell the same. I am asking if there is a common adulterant that may be behind the common smell.
