distance and temp

Hey there again RIU,

I really want to bring the temp down at canopy level to 75 degrees, its at 82 degrees right now, I cannot bring it down any lower. I have a 400 MH standard hood, about 1.5 ft from canopy level, a fan blowing air just below the bulb. I think that is why my seedlings are growing slow because the temp has been higher than optimal. Why do growers say do the light test, put your hand at canopy level and if its not burning them its ok? Well I don't understand that logic because I can put the light close enough to the canopy where its not burning them however, the canopy temperature rises to above over optimal temperature. So I can't change anything, I have to accept the conditions and grow with it.

Is it a true inline or a duct booster fan? What's the temps in the room where the closet is?

Aircooled hoods can drop temps in a closet by 10-15 degrees with proper exhaust. They are absolutely worth the investment if temps are an issue. However 82 isnt all that bad my temps will hit 84 sometimes (usually 79) and i jave very dense nugs.

Yes its one of those fans you hook ducting to a carbon filter. Well the temps in the closet, not including below the light where the canopy, is about 76 degrees.

...bla-bla-bla...

I say, leave it alone, 82 is fine for now... 82, seriously fine, worry about something else, or worry about nothing at all....
