DIY 4 site build Qs

Forgot about the hydro sub, duh.
So I’ve see numerous builds, understand what i’ve got to do generally.
I currently have a 4&6 set up which I bought.

But I want to add another 4 set up and build it myself .

I would like to have the buckets in a straight line.

Main questions are.

What size lines to get that will be moving the water from control to buckets.

How I go about drilling the holes in the buckets and water sealing them? What sort of drill bit do i need?

Otherwise I know what i’ll do for my airstones, water pump in the main rez.

Miss anything?

Holes 1 inch and less I like paddle bits, but sharp ones and you gotta be gentle or it digs in and fucks up the hole. Might wanna practice bucket to drill a bunch first lol.

Holes larger a hole saw works best I think.

An inside deburring tool is very handy. Just a little hand held tool about like a pencil with a little swivel cutter head. Again, practice bucket.

You want a very clean and perfect hole for grommets.

Use waterfalls. Air pumps and air stones are for noobs

you could use 27 gallon totes with 2 plant sites per tote.

use 2" pvc to connect them at the bottom, makes draining them completely easier than if they are on the sides.

and like @Airwalker16 said, use your feed lines as waterfalls. ditch the stones/airpump
