I posted a thread about this same setup a while back.
You can also put the tubing in your res to make a chiller as well....
The problem with the setup is that the ice doesn't last too long so what I did was freeze a bunch of tupperware type bowls (w/lids on of course) and just kept swapping those out once all the water in the bowl had melted.
It sounds like an easy thing but the water does melt real fast. I also live in a warm, humid climate.
Also there is a lot of condensation that builds up on the tubing and it creates a steady drip so make sure and figure out how to contain all the run off.
But all that said, it does work, And I'm sure all the things I mentioned will depend on current temp/humidity and the size of your room...
