DIY Aero Basement Grow - Multiple Strains

Lookin good DJ. Mind sharing any info on your nutes? brand ppm ect? good luck
Using the GH stuff on this one. The 3 part system, Micro, Gro, & Bloom. The first batch I mixed, I used the recommended mixture on the bottle @ full strength. Oops. Immediate signs of nute burn on almost every plant. Interestingly, they all exhibited slightly different symptoms. Maybe due to the different strains? Anyway, my buddies who use the same shit told me to back it off to 50-60% of what the bottle says. They bounced back right away.

The first week the babies were in the "Spaceball One" I used straight ph'ed tap water. My tap here in Denver has very low ppm & the ph is in the mid 6's. Working on an RO system as cash allows...

BTW- Did no one get my reference to Spaceballs when naming my machine? Or is it just so understood that no one reacted? Spaceball One was the name of Dark Helmet's ship...

I don't know about his, as I haven't seen them in action. Got any money shots DJ?
The roots look discolored in these attached pics, but it's just the way the lighting tricks the camera. They are white as can be. The shot with them on shows that about 1/4" out from the tip is where it turns into a mist. The 2nd shot shows where the water falls into the rez. It bubbles there due to the splashing action of the water.

So these pics are from a couple days ago. This is around 3 weeks flowering for most of the plants, but some of them are @ 2 weeks.

I tried to get some close ups of the trichome hairs on a few of the buds/leaves. I have since added a chicken wire screen to train the taller plants into submission. I figure it'll help even out the height of the different strains & get better use of the light/space. Pics of that later.

very nice setup, i to am running an aero setup and i found you cant go by the directions on the bottle, there to vague and need to build you plants up to the ppm levels... here is the chart i use for the GH nutes, mainly for veg once flower hits i use the first 2 weeks and on the 3rd res change i stick with lucas formula 8m/16b till there done. ive tried jumping into the lucas formula right when flowering was induced but i kept getting nutes burn to again slowly built them up...... again nice setup gotta love the aero they just grow so damn fast....

Nice setup, DJ. I thought about doing pretty much the same thing as you but it looks like I had a little less time and a little less money than you did. So in other words, "I see your shwartz is bigger than mine."

btw, i'm pretty much in the same situation but on the western slope. :)

Thanks, Lo'Pan. I actually had a buddy who went in on the materials with me in exchange for product on the back end...

Hope your situation turns out ok...

So, I'm using GH Micro, Grow, & Bloom Nutes. Any suggestions on supplements? I figure I should continue with GH stuff, but they have a few different things out there.

Also, since I'm growing several different strains in the same machine, it's challenging to figure when I can flush the system before harvest. Some of the plants here are done in 6-7 weeks total, while others are 8-10 or 10-12 weeks. Do I flush for 3 days before I pull down the first batch & then go back to an aggressive blooming nute solution? Or should I ease back into it over the course of several days?

You could try the emergency flush method, DJ. A guy named MBlaze had a couple of grow journals on here and this is what he did in case you are not familiar with it....

Take a five gallon bucket and cut a hole in the center of the lid just big enough for base of the plant to fit into. Fill the bucket with fresh, PH'd water and put a good air stone in the bottom. Feed your plants right up to the day you want to harvest and then cut the plant as close to the growing medium as possible and immediately transfer it to the "flush" bucket. MBlaze said he left the plant in the bucket for either 24 or 48 hours (cant remember) and it did the job. I have never tried this myself, but it sounds like it might be a good method that would not interupt the feeding cycle of the other plants.

I like that idea. I have my cloning machine that I made. It uses the same size net pots that I use in my aero. I could use ph'ed water in there, and maybe just cut the root ball back a bit... hmmm... good stuff!

so 4 or 5 days ago I got tired of looking at a baby Kush plant that never stretched. It started flowering, but its growth was severely stunted. I swapped it with a bushy Kush clone I had waiting.

Then this morning, "is that a Hermie?". Another Kush had turned on me. It's flowers were looking slightly different in color & shape. I pulled a bud off to get a closer look. Yep. Seed sacs with very tiny premie seeds in em.
Yanked that fucker out immediately. Slapped in a Purple Kush baby. Hopefully, the damage was averted.

Last night I did a rez change & stepped up the nutes. Today, one plant shows signs of burn. So I backed off a bit. I pulled 2 gal out. Replaced with fresh h2o, Then added 2 more gal for the water they drank overnight...

Also, added Green Fuse Bloom Stimulator...

How's your aero setup running?
Mine is still getting really dialed in, but the plants seem to be lovin' there new home! I haven't started flowering yet because I've had some problems with my setup being alot louder than I accounted for. My pump is a beast, and I can hear it kick on and off. Also you can hear water running when she's spraying... Kinda almost sounds like a giant bong....haha I want to address these issues before I turn out a crop.
But, anyway right now I'm already working on the first remodel of my growroom which is good because I'm addressing many of the current issues.

What are your reservoir temps looking like? Mine right now are a dangerously high. Low to mid 70's. I've got a solution being worked out in the remodel.

I can't wait to flower these bitches.
Got any updated pictures?

Everything's looking great on my end. Just snapped some pics last night, I'll get em posted tonight, I hope.

WAY too busy lately to dick around on the internet. Pregnant wifey & 6 different things going at once as far as my self-employment status leaves little time for typing, etc.

My temps at first were fluctuating horribly. I realized it was the lights themselves heating up my reservoir & tubes, especially the equalizer tubes, which are black. I covered them with white styro sheets & covered those with mylar. Since then, I'm in the 60s in the "daytime" while my air temp is 75-80. Only time it's gone higher was when I left a fan off & the temp crept over 85 in the room. The water was 77. The level was pretty low, too, which only made it worse. I've since kept a closer eye on things & the temps seem fine.

I still need to hook up an automatic water filler so I don't have to manually top off the reservoirs. The temp & nute fluctuation is no good. They're using 4-5 gal a day now & when I add the fresh water, the ppm drops by 200-250. The other day, I was over 1000ppm. I'm tring to stay under 800. Everyone seems happy except for the Afghan X Haze (4plants) that have a good amount of nute burn showing. I'd say another 2 weeks out from harvest on those guys, so there's not much I can do about it at this point.

The Super Lemon Haze will be ready to chop in a couple days. I'm in love with it...
