anything really works for clones, you can put it in plain water and get roots, takes awhile, but it happens. I prefer RW cubes and Propagation Plugs for clones. Either one is transplantable to soil, hydro, or hempy.... just not aero i don't think.

I did buy 3 bins (.99 each). I'll make them opaque. I showed the bottom and top of the bins. I didn't know if mabye using the tops would be good as trays? What do you think.

Hmmm what else do you have at your disposal? Any spare parts, or equipment?If you have some stuff lying around you could make a temporary powered hydro set up until you can upgrade to something more reliable and efficient.

You most definitely want those roots and rock wool in the dark. Roots hate light, i've learned this several times now.

Those bins look like they could fit two clones each. If you don't have anything else to work with i'd say the plain water is your best bet.

Once when i was running my aero cloner the air pump i was using stopped in the middle of the night. I didn't find it until the next day, but the damage was already done, all my clones were dried up, except for my one clone whose roots had reached the water.

As a result of the pump stopping the water back syphoned down the air hose, leaked through the check valve, and ended up ruining the pump. I did not have any money at the time so i had to wait until the end of the week to replace the pump. I was worried about my poor clone and checked on it frequently, lo and behold at the end of the week the clone was just fine and had actually grown 2.5 inches over the five days. Just an example of my experience to give you some reassurance in putting the clones in plain water.

i'm imsipired to do a video now, very nice, I can;t belive they are only two weeks older then mine, they look fantastic!! As a side note i am also using just plain water for my clone, but again, i dont know anything about hydro.
 
Hey guys... I'm starting another thread for the second set of clones later today. But here is a sneak preview.

I made up a 1 gal batch of weak nutes. Without a meter to use, I would guess the ppm to be 350. I used 1 gal RO, then weak mixtures of Advance grow A+B, Max Grow, and Cal-Mag.

I dunked all the plants so the rockwool was completely underwater for about 4 minutes, then I removed and placed in the trays for the night.

This morning they look very happy, and I think the monster with the roots even grew a tiny bit.

And yes, I am going all out, futuristic, super high tech... with the computer paper set in the back for reflection. Just try and mess with the computer paper. I honestly thought about aluminum foil, but then figured I'd get my RIU card rejected for it.

Also, from the video above you can see I have not forgotten about the monsters in my closet.

Looking good man, already nice size clones to.

Like smoote was saying if yon can cover the rockwools that be ideal, i was thinking maybe like a gallon of milk or some plastic you just have laying around the house cut it so it sits on top of the rockwool cubes, then cover the plastic with paper or somthing, i just know those rockwool cubes will dry out fast, so keep a eye on them. Looking sick over there man. Is that going to be clone area ??

I'm just using it for the next couple weeks until my closet finishes. I need room for all my books I never read, haha.

I'm going to make some more permanent space for cloning when it comes to be that time. Don't know if you all remember, but I plan on having a mother/ clone/ perpetual harvest going on.... I'm probably going to start early summer next year.

My plan now is to harvest my main grow (this journal), harvest my purples I just got. Go to england. Have one more run in the closet, Round 2 officially, harvest that. Go to India. Maybe do a seed run... I think I may have some plants in mind for that. Then after the seed run, I'll buy a bunch of clones veg them and pick my favorite as a mother.

After that boys, it is really on. I'm gonna be like stink bud harvesting a pound every three weeks.... just kidding. The real point of the perpetual harvest is to keep my own stash going, nothing else.

Very nice, i been wanting to travel was planning on doing some big trips 2008 June after my girl grad from college but then my son was on the way so changed everything, still planning on at least roadtripping US before he gets to old.

That's why we are going on these trips now, becuase we are going to have a kid probably next year. Don't want to be lugging a baby around airports.

I went on road trips for vacations every year with my parents and I loved it. I bet the little one will love it. Sometimes with all the politics and stuff it gets lost that we have probably the most physically amazing country in the world. And you can just go anywhere you want, no questions asked. Pretty cool.

Damn man.... I'm trying to forget. I'm dying too. Me, you, and hulk all are in the final weeks.

About 21 days, but I think I'm going to harvest in parts. So maybe even like 20-30 days from now, each of those days I'll harvest. It will make trimming spells shorter as well. I plan to make my buds as pretty as I possibly can, and get all that trim for some super sweet hash.

It's nice having the new clones to worry about while I'm waiting. Keep my mind of it a little.

Yea when you have another little project going to puts your mind away from the other for a little while, i always have a list of projects or chores i have to do, trying to help my mind stay off the wait.

I just got 2 grams of Green Crack hash its was a buy one get one free deal, first time i ever tried it was different, the smoke was way better then i thought i waqs worried it was going to be like resin. Going to go try some more of it right now still trying it out and got some brownies to so i can try them out not sure if i want to make hash or butter out of the trim. What do you like better eating to get high or smoking hash, like i said new to both so trying figure out what i like.
 
When I get hash, I smoke it on top of herb. I like it... only problem if I buy it 2 trips in a row to the co-op my tolerance for hash and weed as well goes up and it messes everything up. It's cool though to get pretty crazy high on one or two hits.

Edibles are cool, they last a long time but are more mellow. They are good for poeple with pain issues bacuase it's sorta more from within, if that makes sense. Some of the highest times I've ever had have been of edibles, you can over do it a little and it also takes a while to kick in.

I prefer hash myself. Edibles don't do too much for me.

I suppose if you have a lot of trim you could do both. It doesn't take much butter to make brownies...

Personally, I am sold on the Gumby method and am looking forward to the trim for hash almost as much as the smoke itself!

This is an awesome setup, and technique; I wish I was in Cali right now and visit or something... haha.

Me, I plan on growing on "coco coir 50% pomes rock 50%", for what I understand it's somewhat like perlite, and using nutes special for coco.

JigFresh, incredible plants... I know you're dying to give them the chop... hahaha...

good brownies are easy to over do. it takes about 45 min, to 90 minutes to feel effects, when hot from the over it is easy to eat 3 or 4 hot brownies/cookies on the spot. an hour later, you find you ate 3 days worth.

i kief my trimmings, and use 7 Gr in a cup of butter. 1 cup makes 2 mixes. or, roughly 1 gram a brownie if it is cut right.
 
I plan on showing you guys everything from the moment I get the seeds up until I light up my very first joint off of the harvest...
Of course... Right now, I need I couple of things to get me running so just bare with me until I get started.
