DIY coollight on another forum. What do you think?

Hey peeps,

I found this DIY coollight on another forum. I'm thinking of making one BUT its made from mdf.

The guys says he's having no temp issues and the box is cool to the touch, so maybe its not so much of a fire hazard as you would think.

What do you guys think?

I like it, and as cool tubes and cooled hoods are outta my budget id try this!

Yeah, that's exactly what i thought.. I might angle the side walls a bit and add a sheet of aluminum in there as a reflector. Gonna still need a ballast though but saving $$$ on the cooled hood maybe a lumatek digital is now do-able.

you could always make a cool tube out of a "bake a round" like $30 shipped on ebay

Yeah thats true. I've been looking into them aswell.
