If you plan to do something I suggest researching it. Best way: Check out the general discussion and the newbie central forums, they have by far the best How-to stickies and FAQs. Those questions can be easily answered. I could answer them for you now, but I wouldn't be satisfied with it and neither would you in the long run. You need to do A LOT more research in the dimensions of your setup as well as everything in between. Its not a hobby you can pick up in a day and go off of, in my opinion.

1. Check the noOb threads.
2. Save money.
3. Measure your space.
4. Find a Compact Fluorescent Light (CFL) setup to suit your needs.
5. Soil/hydro/aero.. most likely soil for you to start, then a Deep Water Culture (DWC) when you've got a grow or two under your belt.
6. Mylar for the walls.
7. Ionizer and or activated carbon filter(s).
8. Save more money.
9. Read up on nutrition and how to impliment it for soil (later, hydro).
10. Seeds.

Soil is easiest for a begginer, hydro/aero produces largest yields and growth-rates. Keep in mind the electricity bill, it will go up.

READ, READ, READ.

Then when your tired of reading, READ some more.

If you've still got questions.. post 'em up!

More than likely they've already been asked.. so search first. After a while you'll love that feature.

I would say Hydro is a very easy way to start for beginers. I started with this exact setup and ran with out any hitches.

You Can Do IT!!!

I dunno, hydro is less forgiving. although, there is less to do in the long run if done well, soil is thought to be much easier in terms of forgiveness. Plus Hydro is more expensive. Nutes, nutes, nutes.

Seems to pay off in the end. There are some crazy setups out there. This is the one of the easiest ways to start. Not complicated. Not too wet (exposed water). And it takes less time than soil. And its easier to start from da clones. And if you mess up the clones. Ya' still got tha mom.
Why not?
By now you should have come across DWC, NFT, Ebb n Flow, drip n' drain, and the legendary "Hempy Bucket". Is that Hempy/?, Hempy/Graf?
Read around. Bittorrent the media. You're already acting like a pirate anyway. The info is all free.

Do you think that 2 indica plants could fit in this system without compromising anything?

Why wouldnt they? Indicas are short. If it were sativas then it might be a problem. However it all depends on if your pruning or not also. You could fit 4 plants in a 20 gallon tote no problem. Just remember to change the res every week, top off & adjust the ph daily. :peace:

sounds like a go for the indicas. However, after successfully growing indicas, want to try arjans haze #3 (which is that 3' short 80%sativa). I wonder if those would have any problems in a DWC set up with more than 2 plants. hmm..

anyway thanks for the response

You could use the 3 inch net cups. Go with six in an 18 gallon tub. Also yield depends on a lot of different factors. Growing experience, the correct temps (including water), how you control insects, fungus, etc... Co2 no Co2. Nutrients, etc.....:peace:

Excellent post. I learned alot from this... Can you put two plants per tub? I was thinking of giving this a shot to see if I could get 6 in a small area.
