I'm curious what the specs are between the luxeons vs osram... Center peak both 645?, efficiency, output/ratings? You know pos?
This is from my math based on minimum numbers and based on Tj 50C:
Luxeon ES 660nm EX6 @ 700mA (1.73W) = 38.24%
Luxeon ES 670nm EX7 @ 700mA (1.73W) = 38.24%
Oslon SSL 656nm 3T @ 700mA (1.65W) = 39.3%
Oslon SSL 656nm 4T @ 700mA (1.65W) = 44.3%

Very impressive numbers, but they actually drag down the efficiency of the CXA3070 ABs running soft (49.4%). Hopefully we get a new generation of deep reds soon.

Not trying to hi-jack your post Pos., but correct me if I am wrong, after reading this thread and others, we are saying that it is better to run the LED's (in a soft manner) at lower current level's, rather than at the higher current level's ?
This would extend the life of the LED and possibly the driver ?
After measuring output's on the ones on the tower, well cranked up I think they will bleach out the plants. Running them much lower I still wonder how it will do. I am going nut's having to wait just to play with the plants and LED's, but I do think this was a worth while change from the HPS system.

No worries realhigh..no high jack that I can see

It's always better to run softer and get more lumens. But more expensive...and when talking about 1,3,5,10w leds penetration can suck at low currents.

I can't stand having to grow scrog or one foot plants..I bumped up the xml power from standard issue 700ma to 2100ma so I could get bigger buds farther down the stock.

Never regretted either..still the best herb I've grown with leds yet at a respectable gpw with light yielding strains. I wouldn't stress the bleaching...I've had 360w two inches from a bud with a slight tip bleach. Main thing your light is white heavy there shouldn't be much bleaching...although I've seen supra bleach a few with white he's using cobs

Xmls at 6.5w is a lot cheaper than at 3w...and a lot less leds needed...

That's exactly why the cobs are so sweet...they make low current way easier and more affordable.

If anything the timing was just bad...you started your build just as the first cob grow had started.

Welcome to led land where soon as you buy something it gets updated...this last jump was pretty huge though. Would probably make anyone happy for quite a while...maybe

Those are pretty sweet. I wonder how hot the cob gets when it's encapsulated like that. Lots of heat comes off the face of the cob..

May order one or two for a test fit if I can find one to fit a 3590. It'll be hard to beat the ledil Stella that's very similar but made to fit the 3070 or 3590

Girls been really hungry with this newfound light source. Think the co2 bag and high irradiance are needing more than my top dressings were giving.

Greened up quickly with some biothrive..going to need pretty steady feedings under the 360w I've been giving them. Think I'll stay with that power level since it's what I've been running for a while...basically ends of panel on max and middle backed off 40w.

Peyote purple is a male I think. Supposed to be rare for a male to show from what I've read. Try and save some pollen for breeding..be nice to make f2 for the future

Next gen dynamite has some variegation. Not the nicest structure either. Had high hopes but I think it's not the best pheno..maybe she'll blossom later

Canopy filled in nice but half will be removed due to unexpected males. They showed their preflowers in less than a week..about 4 days into 12/12.

Will keep the peyote purple male to collect pollen but the next gen dynamite male is out...will try and get a few more going, I like grapefruit strains

Next gen male..

Peyote male is a blessing..hoped for one and got one on first bean. I like making f2s of any seeds I buy...helps make up for the inevitable duds.

She got trimmed and thrown outdoors..will just pollinate a few branches maybe. She has a bubba heritage so a cross with my bubba clone would be cool

These will be the biggest plants I've grown since I used a 600w horti...

What lenses do you have on the reds pos? Is it the FR that I see reflecting on the tent or the 660s? It looks like you have lenses on em but damn that's a lot on the tent and I thought I'd see a little more red hue on the kiddos.

I'm thinking about getting some of those ledil reflectors that's why I ask, think all my diodes are 115* so I'd have to match up accordingly. The Stella-HB's though.

That's the 660. Pretty sure the red just looks strong there because the middle whites are turned off. Once I turn everything up you can't see much red. There should be lots making its way down to the girls! Maybe too much...will wait till buds are ripe to decide which way to go with that.

This is the reflector....http://www.ledil.com/node/2/p/8224

Needed to be modified a little and won't fit every star. Everything needs to be just right...solder size, screw placement...shave a bit off the bottom. Better fit than the carclo was though.

After seeing bueno pull those dense nugs I'm really doubting these reds..

And as far as reflecting the cxas...I dunno...lol. Pluses and minuses. My light turned into a stationary sun at the top of the tent needing ample space between...

POS what light config is Bueno using?

He does not seem to have a thread

650 is a much better choice than 660

Not sure exactly...just cxa 3070 3000k is all I know. Looks like they did great with no supplementing

Think the actual peak of oslon hyper red is 656..close enough..they are the best choice for deep red as far as I know. I just say 660 since most people know it as that..bad habit but keeps things simplified in my mind
