DIY pvc clear plastic roofing for outdoor grow??

hello everyone.

this will be my 3rd year growing, and I would like to prevent what has happened the first two, bud rot :(.

I live in a area that gets a lot of rain and is humid so with my plants just being in nature, they got pretty wet and humid during flowering season.

ive moved my site to a less humid area, but the rainfall I still anticipate to be a problem, and will help regulate the amount of water they receive. They are in raised pots if that matters.

enough rambling, does anyone any website or thread that could assist me in building a small "roof" over the plants using some sort of PVC piping and clear plastic cover?

im sure I can figure something out if need be, but am just wondering if anyone has any good ideas.

thanks.

It's called a hoop house. You can build then with PVC and rebar. Put the rebar into ground, leave about 18 inches above ground. Get PVC with some flex, usually need to be 2 to 3 times wider than the actuall area your trying to cover. Put the PVC over one rebar, bend and place on the other rebar on other side. The tension will hold it in place. If any slack in the structure buy a 3 way split (t) for the ends and 4 way split for middles. Cut the poles in half on ground, add the splits, glue them in place. Let it dry and put the structure back up. Connect them with PVC. This should give you a straight line at the peak of your hoops. Repeat until area is cover. Get your plastic and use shower curtain loops to attach plastic. This will let you slide it open on days that it won't rain. Hope this helps.
