Plates ordered. 220 Canadian
So total 299 for press (-200 CT money)
220 for plates and pid
Total cost
299.99
-200
+220
_______
320. For a 10t 3x5 press. Not too shabby
Nice. The experiments will be fun. Play with temp, time and pressure.
A cleaning tip. Wipe your plates hot with a dab of acetone, "finger nail polish remover", if you get a leak. Easy and no scratches in plates. Aluminum is really soft.
Iso works as well and cleans all your tools.

Anodized aluminum is not as soft.

More questions?
Do you use a round preforming tool to make say 1-2 round pucks to put into a 2x4 bag .

Or the rectangle one, more than likely this will need more material to start.

Thank you again for all this info.

a 10t press will be a little under powered to take full advantage of a 4x7 plate. You would nearly double your maximum psi with a 3x5 plate. Also, keep in mind that it is not good to use your press at full capacity, so you will actually be using about 8tons max pressure.
I know a 20 ton works like a boss with 4X7 plates. But my question is a 20 ton strong enough to work optimal with larger plates?

Like I said up there I'm just finding it difficult to source plates other than amazon and I see on the dabpress website they have the 3x5 plates on sale for 199.99 usd. So I know Amazon's hosing me @430$
You might wanna check out Low Temp Plates. They seem very reasonable. They got 4X7s, I just wish they did bigger.

Are those plates without the cage? Are the cages only needed with a bottle jack? Or beneficial with all the different kinds of presses?

Any suggestions on where to find a good set of 5X7s?
