DIY ultrasonic fog cloner " lots of pics"

so I built this DIY cloner today, ill keep this thread updated and let you know how well it works with multiple clones, I have done this before just have to make sure the stem stays in pure fog for 15 minutes on and 15 minutes off.
this type of fogger does heat up the water to 80 Deg. after being on for 15 minutes. Then cools down to 72 Deg. after off for 15 minutes.
I think putting these foggers on a 15 minute timer is the only way to use them.
but pretty cool huh, the fog is a good mix of air and moister. I did this once before and got root bumps in 3 days. this time I wanted to document it.

list of stuff. Plastic jar or tub, ultrasonic fogger from ebay, electrical or dark tape to black out the jar, and a humidity dome and timer. = $20 bucks or so for the fogger everything else is around the house stuff.

Yeah i just pull them out when I have lots of root bumbs and maybe like one or two roots poking out, but I should cut bigger holes out of the plastic and get plugs for sure.

I have tried this on a slightly larger scale with a 5 head fogger, with teflon discs which do not clog and all I can say is if anyone wants it they can have it, its not worth it. In addition to producing fog they throw up water drops and I would say in your smaller setup that is having more of an effect than the fog. Sorry dude I dont mean to sound like a *&@*&. A pump and sprayer setup is the best way to go IMHO, also on a few min on and even longer time off sprayer schedule.

yeah rely on the small droplets they help soak them up, I like it because with 15 minutes on and 30 off, it keeps the temperature in my tub at a constant 80 Deg. but I would love to make an ez cloner next. but it is a water pump, air pump, pvc, sprayers..... alot of shit.

here is a question for you all what roots faster rockwool or an ez cloner?

EZcloner, by at least a week.

I only made an aero cloner cause I already had all the parts from a left over DIY hydro failure, except I used a coleman cooler for my base and it was less than $20. (check out thread "cooler cloner"). I used to just use a shallow storage tote with 2 - 12" long airstones on a large airpump, with the base of the stems right above the water line the bubble breaks would keep them wet enough and I had good success. But nothing beats the aero cloner on a recycle timer.

i have an aero clonner/system and wanted to add a fogger, but i heard that raising the res temps is NOT good?

they do raise the temp so you have to have it on a timer, on for 15 off for 30 in my set-up. But thats y I tried it so I can have my roots like 5 Deg. warmer than the air around my leaves. It is just an interesting experiment for me, I am a rock wool guy.

oh and for the guy wanting to know where I got the stuff, look on the other page, I only bought the fogger for like 20 bucks everything else is around your home.
