Diy with arrow

What do yall think about 3 RSPEC boards with 320 driver for 2x4? I'm thinking of remote wiring for my summer light to help keep my tent cooler? Any thoughts on this build? Or could I get by with with 240 meanwell.
It would work well as long as you have good air movement across the boards.

Them refurbished boards for $29 are a good deal for something you can put together quickly without to much time invested. The slate heatsinks aren't a bad deal either.

I wanted a way to get a cheap mcpcb to reflow solder some xpg3 photo red and xpe2 far red diodes to and thought I'll just remove diodes from some cheap ass strips, found these the 2700k 90 cri ain't great efficiency but color quality for flower on point 5700k 70CRI extreme opposite

12 up xpg3 5700k 70cri $0.70

4 up xpg3 2700k 90cri $0.15

The 12 up and 4 up xpg3 boards have thermal tape already attached. Which is awesome, if I wasn't planning on removing and replacing some of the diodes20250307_191030.jpg20250307_190928.jpg
I bought 150 of the 2700k 90 cri

I plan to remove 3 of the diodes on some and replace them with 2 xpg3 photo reds and 1 xpe2 far red making an extra wide red at 500ma be around 4.5 watts each supp to add to the osram 3030 strip build

I realize these options will not appeal to the majority, but for a home grower with a small operation, or even someone like myself living in a cheaper electricity area, these will work. I've always wanted to do a build out of extreme high power (xhp series) diodes. More specifically I always wanted to try xhp50.2 being such a big single die diode. Anyways here are some cheap options available ATM

Xhp35.2

Xhp50.2

There are more but it keeps erasing when I switch tabs, anyways I think they would make a cool light

Hey man, I've been following this thread for a while, amazing stuff.

Just wondering... do you have any pics of a finished build? Would love to see how it all came together!
Yessiree, ain't gonna lie shits gotten slower round my area. Only way people wanna run a diy light is a major $ break. I posted this one on @Rocket Soul thread on icmag recently, it's only good for 16 - 25 watts, there will be 2 of these on 1 small plant. This was a used board I put a new set of diodes on 10 whites 4, 6000k 4, 4500k and 2, 2700k + 4 photo reds & 2 xpe2 far reds. The heatsink is for a qb96 from hlg, complete overkill doesn't even get warm at 700ma. Less than $6 for all the diodes from arrow deals.

I was working on this one a while back and it Found it's way to the back burner, this one's going In my flowering room soon. The strips are osram osconiq 3030 4000k 90cri diodes 72 diodes per strip. On the 4 smaller heatsinks 8, royal blue 32, 2700k 90cri 32, photo red xpg3 20, far red xpe2 4, 850nm & 4, 930nm osram IR diodes. For a very wide red spectrum. The strips are wired the rest need to be, cool thing about this light is the strips run 390ma typically and all the high powered diodes 350ma so wiring these up should be quite simple.

The 4 up lil circles are used copper dtp mcpcb stars, I removed the old whites and put new reds. Totally worth it when xpg3 photo reds are $0.25 each, I can live with the dirty looking board as long as they diodes are new.

My flowering room is %100 diy leds with %90 of it being under driven cobs/high powered diodes. I find lm301 lights boring, but i have some samsung strips running as supplimental in there as well I'll take pics of what's in there later tonight.

Snapped a few pics of what's running outside only thing running out there right now ain't diy is 1/2 a vivid grow light, from 2016 it's a good red light source while im replacing red diodes i have been running a long time.

Ir strip ima try full cycle when winter hits

i spent all night soldering photocells together so i can put my 2 ecoairs on battery/solar instead of running a cable outside, little 30w inverter a buck converter, a shitload of alligator clips and a LiFePo4 battery, battery can run the pumps for 3 days without solar panels, yes i could have just bought all this stuff.

Are you running dwc outside?
atm no i have a algae tank and a burn off tank, down the road if i can get all the controls right i wanna run one, just to see how it runs, i've done them inside before, edit, way way down the road i will have leds outside so i can grow year round outside with full spectrum light including uv/ir, senor activated, but i plan to build it out all myself, and im in no rush

If you do the bargain hunting you can build your own under $60 it can take time to find everything but worth it.
