DLI how much is too much?

The majority of my plants are between 900-1400 ppfd. C02 is at 1450. Temp was at 84-85 but I’ve lowered it to 82 yesterday as I’m coming up on day 21 and I don’t wanna make lose buds by running too hot.

My question is I see people shortening their days from 12 down to 11 if they are running high enough ppfd. I’m wondering if I should do this or if anyone has experience, this is my first run with leds so I’ve never dealt with such high light levels.

This was a couple days ago I’ll get some more pictures when the lights come on.

Dr.Bruce from apogee recommends 40-50 DLI in flower if your pushing a plant. He also said that is “maxing” a plant out, I’m not sure if thats with or without co2. Most likely with though.

I also read on here someone mentioned a 1:1 ratio of co2ppm to light ppfd, like if you have 1500 ppfd your co2 should also be 1500ppm. They also said this only applies when running over 1000ppfd.

I’m just regurgitating information someone more experienced may be able to reply better.

I’m at 92% on my lights plants got a little taller than they should but oh well hitting good ppfd numbers all over the place. I’m gonna try raising it even higher after the they recover from a leaf strip tomorrow

Awesome setup by the way, good luck. I calculated your DLI and it’s around 60 I don’t know how much farther you can push it but that’s only on the plants that are getting 1400 ppfd, the ones getting 900 have a much lower DLI. Be careful of hot spots!

Someone who pushes with co2 can help you out more.

Right that’s why I was thinking of lowering down to 11 or 11.5 hours of light to get a lower dli. I follow a couple guys on ig that do that and claim it also helps with finishing on time.

If it helps at all I just read a study done in Europe where they tested the suns ppfd, it reached 1700 around noon and tapered off. That may help you I’m not sure lol! Not sure how accurate it is but possibly something to compare to…

The study
