I suspect attitudes freebies come about through a quality control effort to provide the best seeds for pick'n'mix. The UFOs seem to always be pick'n'mix strains which have been offered for a while or even recently run out of stock. When comparing freebies to purchased packs they do seem to be on the smaller or paler side of things to me. I haven't actually had a problem with growing any however.
