DNA Genetics - sharksbreath !

Hey dudes ,just set up an account here.Going to try and help people out where i can and going to start doing journals of my grows.I'm a 1 plant a time personal grower ,but i have advanced form noob failings to pretty good plants.

So here's this grow I'm doing right now.The mighty sharksbreath ,It's 4 weeks in from seed.Follow me on my journey if you like.

Feel free to pop in with whatever comments you like ,i hope anyone who is interested in this strain learns what they need to learn.

The story so far is that it was very slow to get going and i was thinking i was going to have a weak plant on my hands .But i think i was over watering a bit.So i let the pot dry out real good ,transplanted it watered it well ,let in dry out again and i think that let the roots really develop and after topping it at the 5th node it has taken off and is a sexy little bush now.It is 10 inches today and i have just flipped the light cycle to 12/12 so i will post another update in a week or so to fully demonstrate the stretch.Oh one more thing ,no smell of it yet ,a mild fruity smell but nothing weedy ,kind of like a fruit salad or something.

Here's the story so far..in pictures... .. as you can see i seem to have a white shark dominant phenotype , all being well i'll have some bud porn in a matter of weeks..what you think??

No interest yet? ,i know it's early days but cummon, it's sharksbreath ..even without buds it is quite erotic.

anyway heres another update .I started a little lst today ,i control the stretch by tying down the leading tops ,this allows the lowest branches to get even with the highest and means i'll have a nice even canopy ,which is better for light distribution and hopefully more yield..

voila

Notice how it's picked right back up already today..

I seem to have a problem though ,threre is a lot of overlapping leaves and the leaves that are under other leaves have water just sitting on them ... this is the first time i have attempted this lst technique with an indica ,the sativa i did it with did not stay just so bushy.I hope it starts to stretch a bit because i'm now starting to get a musty smell in the closet ,this bush structure must be producing more humidity than normal .. not good ,i may have to get a few moisture mates or something..i can't ruin any walls to have an extraction ,i just open the closet a few times a day ..which has worked fine so far ,maybe doing it this way is going to lead to problems ,doh!

stretch was a huge issue of mine when I grew.....they took off like rockets and had hug spacial between nodes.....I had strong light, from the beginning, so it was a newb setup.

Thanks for the kind words man and props for the info of your experience with the stretch. This is why i chose to flip it at 10 inches and tie it down ,as i read somewhere online that it had a wicked stretch ,although i read sshz's journal there and he didn't report a major stretch so there is maybe just some stretchy phenos floating about.

sshz

I never knew you just done a sharksbreath journal ,but i just read it and you did a good job.I guess the only thing i can offer people different is a more up close and personal look at 1 plant..

you are absolutley right about the "in" strain theory to.I would love to grow some kush ,in fact i am dying to grow OG#18 , but i hear that kushes can stink up the whole joint ,so no go for me.I tend to chose strains which i have at least had a few reports online of not being terribly smelly.Sharksbreath was one .I read several different reports of it being a low odour strain so that's what i went with..Next grows for me unless i fall in love with the SB are .Thseeds S.A.G.E , Female seeds C99 and white label Northern lights. In that order ,unless i fall in love with the S.A.G.E ,which is easy to do apparently it was the thseeds guys main headstash for 10 years or something.I'll be doing journals here on these grows to..sage starting probably june next year.

I rate dna genetics highly though ,the rewards the have got in such a short space of time speaks for itself so all of their gear has to be top notch and to be perfectly honest I think the combo of lambs bread and white shark sounded dank..so with a little tlc i hope to get some dank looking buds .SSHZ you say the high is 9/10 .. is that saying that a kush is a 10/10? ,or that it is on a par with kush? ,or just a different type of high altogether?

thanks for stopping bye guys

later

DNA's OG Kush #18 is one of my all time favorites and one of the stinkiest strains around. I have a report on it at the web site in the pic.

I rarely give anything over a 9/10 potency wise. But if it's good and strong, I'm most likely to give it a 9/10. It will stink up the last couple of weeks so be prepared but it's definitely possible to cover it up. I think most of the kushes are stronger than the Sharksbreath, but it's a different type of smoke than most of the other things out there and it's worth growing for the unusual nature of it. I don't think I'll grow it again, but I'm happy I did. Lastly, there's lots of pheno's and variety within the strain. Not overly tall, but 1 pheno does grow taller then the rest.

The OG Kush #18 should be called "The Super Sour"........great yielder, easy to grow and keep green, dense nugs and a very sour taste and smell. A little smelly (actually a lot of smelly) to grow on a regular basis but everyone should try it at least once to experience it.

well i've just been an idiot .went to do a bit more lst on it today ,and managed to break about 4 stems right at the joint of the main stem.never even heard a break.Only noticed when i went to water and i noticed a stem hanging off with a big gaping break in it ,then under closer inspection 3 others... damn ,feel gutted right now.Stuck a bit of black tape over the wounds .I know it will heal ,but it's gonna set me back at least a week :-(

heres a few pics ,it wilted like this about 20 mins after i broke it and an example of the location of where i broke it..

sigh ,i'm such a perfectionist i feel like just scrapping it and starting again with s.a.g.e

Ahh man that sucks! And I wouldn't scrap it just bandage her up and make sure she's ok she'll fix herself up soon enough man peace

i did scrap it in the end a few day ago.. i am impulsive like that.I just hated how it was turning out with the bending i was doing..plus braking it ..i ordered some c99 seeds which hopefully i will be getting tommoro, and i will stick to a single topping and just leave it at that.Do you want me to do a c99 journal?
