DNA Grape LA closet grow

I haven't seen a lot of grows with this strain yet, maybe because it's a limited edition... Anyways this is my first grow and I'm taking it one day at a time to learn what's working and what won't fly in the future. Any advice through out is appreciated and comments are welcome here! If anyone has some pictures for comparison over time I wouldn't mind seeing those either. Now that all that's out of the way let's jump to the fun stuff!

The grow room is a roughly 3x3 section of a closet under 2 250watt cfl bulbs with reflectors. There isn't much I could do for ventilation so hid bulbs were basically out for now until I can get a tent a grow or two down the road. I began by germing two seeds almost two weeks ago and after 3 days of tap root development plopped then in some normal soil in solo cups as their first homes. One took off and has been above ground for 9 days now while the other one never sprouted. I finished germinating another this morning with an even longer tap root and it's currently in soil.

When putting the new seed in I checked the roots on my seedling and they were already at every end of the solo cup so I went ahead and transplanting into it's final home in a 3 gallon pot. The medium there is FFOF and so far she looks like she's enjoying it. Temps are staying around 85-90 during the day with lights on and lower 80 at lights off. I'll try to get some pics up of my seedling to see what you guys think.

2-250 watt bulbs are going to put off just as much heat as a 400 watt hid. People with this whole "CFL's put off less heat" are talking about 20 watt bulbs spread all over the grow space. 200+ watt bulbs are inefficient in comparison to less wattage bulbs.

That's my opinion on that anyways. If there is any chance you can return those bulbs I'd do so in a heart beat, they are going to be a pain in the ass to work with, you won't get shit for penetration, they might work ok for single cola plants. IF you want to use CFL's get desk lamps and y-splitters and fill the space with 20-40 watt bulbs, 20 bulbs should do. Or build some sort of rig, there are lots of CFL guys that kill it on here, they use the 20's and fill the space with a load of them circling the plants from all angles. Run your lights at night when the outside temperature is cooler, don't know where you live but this can make quite a difference depending on time of year.

Maybe Bak will grace you with his presence, that dude kills it with cfls.

I'm running 400 watts in a smaller space and my temps are lower then that. My room temp outside of the grow is around 22 degrees c and about 26 (78f)with the light on in the grow cab. I'm running the garbage duct booster fans too, getting a real fan soon, and won't have any problems keeping the light cool. Cool tubes make it pretty easy actually. TBH I do have the crack the door a bit when the lights are on, but looks like you're going to have to as well.

Try and point a fan directly at those beastie cfls if you are going to use them, try and get them down a couple degrees.

I'm growing some of the limited collection right now, I got a training day just starting and an OG Grape Krypt just finishing, enjoy. Everything I've seen so far out of this collection has been really nice looking.

The lights cost me all of $50, got one free from a friend so I figured I'd give them a shot. I can always change things up later on another grow. Thanks for the advice though! I also have the training day collection and some other freebies from attitude. Pretty stoked to grow a lot of these different strains that these companies hook you up with.

can anyone tell me how those are looking? I figured she's doing pretty good! The other looks like it should be popped above soil by the end of the day, can see the bend but not the seed top so far.

Not sure if I have some nute or light burn going on, past couple days the top leaves have been curling up and browning at the edges. I moved the light up a good bit to be safe for now and will get some pics shortly.

Added a couple DIY co2 generators just for shits and giggles to the grow room. Figured it might be a nice little supplement if anything actually happens but don't see any harm they could cause.

No it's just the heat stress making the brown on the edges
If got the same problems temps hitting almost 90 and then 75 lights off and I got the same thing mabey even worse
