Do autos need a mixed spectrum?

Okay so I'm growing one autoflower autobomb by greengouse seeds and I was wondering does it even benefit the plant to switch to 2700k I was growing under 6 23 watt 5000k lights and ever since I switched to 2700k about two weeks ago the growing has slowed and the nodes have been stretching tremendously my question is if I keep it under 5000k the whole grow will it be okay considering that they mature according to age not light for example if I was growing outdoors it would still be flowering and not in the 2700k spectrum why would it make a difference! Here's some pics of my plant 5 weeks old let me know what you think and btw their is some yellowing on the bottom fan leave I posted a pic about a week ago and someone said it might have been because I splashed some nutes on it and it got burned but it has gotten worse so help is appreciated anyway to the pics

Normally I would say no, you're fine running them under one spectrum - if youre using HPS. Without an HID, I think you would benefit using both spectrums.

I've just been using bloom spectrum T-5 lights with mine and leaving the light on 16/8 all the time. Never a problem.

are you using white leds?

i tried some under just a red 250w cfl and they really stretched a lot. if i was only going to use 1 colour cfl i would stick with the blue tbh. obviously with hps, you can just use hps throughout. the dual spectrum cfls are superb and very affordable.

Sorry about that they are cfls not LEDs and I guess I will just put 4 of each in their and see what happens I was thinking about putting it outside for the rest of the grow but I hear it will stunt it's growth since it has never been outside before but does anyone know why the bottom fan leaves are turning yellow? the lowers are yellowing because of a lack of light penetration if your using cfl's you need alot of watts and place them inbetween the tops of 2 plant to maximize foot print you have to have light from every angle or lst alot i run 2 68 watt ge cfl's a plant in 2700k and recently added 2 ufo led's but the plants veg fine under them they stretch a bit more and it lacks on the flower power but you can get good buds from cfl's and to put your plants outside you have to ease into it a few hours a day and as you work up start putting it in more direct sunlight do this for a week and they should be fine

Thanks for the help and yeah I have plenty of cfls but the problem is finding a way to set them all up

Okay so I think I found the real problem I think it is root bound which is weird because it is a 5 gallon pot and from what I have heard people grow autos in 3 gallon pots well anyway I should have never bought this pot I didn't realize when I got it its some type of self watering pot where their is a hole in the bottom where you could put the water and the root would take it in so I guess every time I have watered it all of the excess water has just been sitting in their well I went to take that part off and throw it out and when I took it off their were roots sticking out now is this definitely root bound? Or were those roots just going for the water sitting at the bottom of the pot? I guess I will have to transplant it even though you shouldn't transplant autos I don't think I have another choice

the roots just do that its far from root bound it would have to be a monster plant to bind up in 5 gals my 2 1/2's hardley ever fill up and i get some big plants

i use the same pots if you put a airstone at the bottom they rock

Okay so I transplanted yesterday anyway before I got a reply and what I did was just cut the other pot on both sides am broke it off then put it in its new pot but it definitely was root bound not a bit of dirt left in the other pots it looked pretty much like all roots so hopefully it will do better in this new pot and you said you use the same pots? When I got rid of the other one there were hundreds of tiny bugs in the standing water don't know what they were hopefully the wernt messing with my roots and I thought it was weird to because the plant isn't a monster so idk why it was root bound just measure it it is 24 inches so two feet tall hopefully the bigger pot will work for the rest of the plants life lol

i like the mop buckets there like a dollar at the dollar store hard to find a 2.5 gal pot for a dollar

Wow great job with the lst I have 2 more seeds so next time around I will defiantly lst my plants yours look great but I still don't understand how yours are bigger than mine are and not root bound yet my plants were...maybe strain idk keep me updated on how your harvest is I would definitely like to see how your turnout is
