Do boveda packs affect smell or taste?

Absolutely nobody cares about that, that is obvious. Nobody asked if it can preserve, we not idiots we know that. We said the mono layer of purified water it adds in the trichrome to bind the terpenes underneath it locks it so food thar u loose your smell and alters your flavor. Our Lab at Biotek Engineering under a strict statistical study shows it. Boveda personel says on their Yt page once you break open the bud to smoke it the terpenes will break out of the mono layer of purified water and the aroma or terpenes will present itself but in our study it showed this is not true 73% of the time. In 27 of our 30 test samples across 30 different parameters it took the terpenes 16 hours to break out the mono layer of purified water. We found it took 16 hours and it didn't break out, the bud dried and evaporated the mono later of purified water and only then was the terpenes able to escape and reveal itself. Being bound behind the mono layer of purified water and salt the flavor had changed, it somehow affected the flavornoids found within the capitate-sessile, capitate-stalked, and bulbous trichromes. Boveda responded to me "Sr. Engineer btw" when I confronted them with data and they admitted that the taste is altered by the salt but the high isn't which is technically correct. However, the Flavornoids and Terpenes were altered for the worst and Boveda said that's the intent to preserve the high. Therefore we will never use those things again. It destroyed our smell and taste.

Care to post your data? Because 73% of 30 is 21.9 not 27.

I’m seeing flaws already.
No, im not posting our studies for others to steal our studies for there own. You can call Boveda and ask yourself and its all over Yt and they even speak of it on they Yt channel. They dont hide the fact that it hides the terpenes. Feel free to see one of our Sr. Biosystems Engineer, Algriculture Instagram page. He also is our statistician who conducts 97% of our statistical studies and also post his private grows on Instagram. We do not post our Lab grows due to the current laws. He post alot of information and study data. We do not post our Minitab results. We just post the data. All our data are conducted to a 95/90 confidence interval and 90% reliability. We do attribute testing using Binomial Distribution and in some cases our test samples are selected using Zero Acceptance Sampling Plan setpoint C=0. His Instagram page is "biosystems_engineer"
Feel free to reach out as he us much smarter when it comes to stats and growing. He writes our protocols and does the reports so he will be best fit to answer questions.

Why do you hate peer review?

How long have you had them stored for?
At the beginning, about 8 months, then the neighbors got wind of my new hobby, now I can't keep them on the shelves...well, I like to at least cure them for a month before releasing. I had to restock with my brother n laws excess of about a year and a half that he's had in glass jars like I do with them Bovedas, still holding the 62%. Is it overkill at this point with my circumstances, maybe. Nice problem to have. :)

Right on. I'm kinda torn. I need to keep experimenting. I've got jars that are like 4 years old.just smoked some Chem 91 that's almost 3 years old and that jar has a Boveda. Tastes about the same as originally just doesn't smell as much. I kinda feel like the buds almost get a kinda paperish smell with the packs, especially if they're left long term. I think they might hold the flavor better, but I've been going back and forth with this for years now. I also think I like the 58% packs over the 62%. I've reused them too.

woah.. 4 years .. nice. I can see/imagine the paperish smell coming from the packs, sorta of a trade off I guess. I'm on the fence with this too now..lol, might just try a jar or two without the packs just to see. I was gonna ask if reusing them would help with that paperish smell but you just mentioned it there at the end, so reusing them doesn't help, dam. Most of us like that dank weed aroma. Kinda cool handing a bag to someone and they're like....Dyaaamm ... what in the bag!? lol.. so I get it.

So let me get this straight… I ask you to post your data, and your immediate response is this..

No, im not posting our studies for others to steal our studies for there own.
Then you go on to say (in the same post)

We do not post our Lab grows due to the current laws. He post alot of information and study data. We do not post our Minitab results. We just post the data.
I’d like to speak to your manager. :dunce: The person that gets to post data. The smarter person. (You said that yourself as well) , because this isn’t working out.

There's no paperish smell. Come on.
Well that's kinda how I'd describe it. I feel like it kinda robs some of the good dank smell. Could just be age though. I have jars that are 4 years old. But so far I'd say it steals a little smell. It doesn't alter the flavor though. I really haven't decided if I'm a fan or not. I think my favorite way to use them is to use them during the burping and stabilatation time. Then when the RH is stable take them out for long term storage. But like I said I'm not sure if I'm a fan or not, kinda yes and no.

How long have you had a pack in a jar for?

Around 2 years I think. I used to have a jar with a nug of every strain I had grown until I cracked it open one Christmas. Terps are going to be lost during extended long term storage, but not nearly as quick as a jar without a pack.

I use them as a pre-bin "cure" stabilizer, like you're saying. They get a few days in the Boveda bin and then go into a Grove Bag. I think they're great for that if nothing else.

And your previous response that my % was off and yes, I was like trying to be close. I was being figurative but at the end I did the correct math. It's like saying minutes away and I pull up in 10 minutes.
Like when a weed plug says “I’ll be there in 10 mins” but takes 45min to an hour.

Grove bags .. might have to try that one soon. I remember getting 3 pounds of weed in turkey bags (from some dude)... so freakn dry...and I mean...dry. Terpenes mostly gone . I couldn't give the stuff away... anyways...sad story short... slowly burned them chunks at a time in my Weber as a loss. :.(

This one? The one that enters giveaways, and doesn’t follow anyone that has anything to do with science? Just seed plugs & a Cali breeder.
Not many ppl following what you all got going on. The bio basically says “This is a sock account” :wall:

Of course, we do not have a social media presence. It is illegal to grow in our state. However, he does personal grows where he post to Instagram but he doesn't advertise for a social presence. We don't want a social media presence. Infact, the best growers have no social media presence. The worst growers are flooded on youtube and Instagram. The social media market is flooded with 95% of fakes and hermaphroditism traits. 99% of growers fail and 99% are indeed on social media mainly youtube. The best growers I've personally met alongside with Algriculture engineers are not on social media. They neither on sites like this asking for help.

These are medical and algriculture engineers, not social media advitist nor screamers.
