Do Colas always fully join?

Hi guys,

I'm coming to the end of my first grow. I've been flowering 9 Northern light plants for about 9 weeks and they are looking fine however there not there just yet.

I've noticed that the colas have not fully joined up some more so than others and some of the lower buds are not as developed as other buds. I'm confused to know if this is a sign that they are not ready or is this the reward for some of the mistakes I've made on the way.

This is my first grow and as a first time grower I have made my mistakes and caused various stresses with my plants however they've always looked great.

As I've said, they have been flowering for around 9 weeks and I'm not sure if it's time to cut them or whether I should just wait and see if more buds form. If they are nearly ready then it's time to flush them out but maybe it's to early. I'm confused!!!!

Any advise?

If hairs are turning brown and you should check your trichromes with a microscope when its at your desired state (usually cloudy or amber, or 50/50) then its ready to chop, just make sure there isnt any clear trichromes otherwise it needs longer.

Also, the buds dont always fill out... jus some less than others, depending on genetics and growing equipment..

Actually a microscope is the one thing I didn't purchase. Any advice on what microscope I should get. I might spend tomorrow looking for the right one. Just looking at the tops 8 out of 9 look like there ready to chop, tons of crystals and turning amber but some of the lower buds are still a little behind.

One plant just doesn't seem to want to produce crystals at all. It's still looking very premature, very little crystals which isn't good because I want to use my growing room as a drying room to so they all have to get the chop at the same time unless I get very creative.

Actually, I've noticed as I look on the underneath of some buds I can see newer preflowers but they aren't sprouting. There's a little bean with 2 pistols, some are amber, some white but it seems like they might sprout or not at all. That's whats really making me think maybe there not even nearly ready but I'm inexperienced so I don't know if that is a common thing?

Either way they won't be cut until there well flushed so there up for another week at least

I'm not a very experienced grower myself but I would say start flushing now because if you are already nine weeks into flowering then you are at or very near the end. So yeah definetely start flushing ASAP! As far as the lower buds being smaller and underdeveloped, thats to be expected cause they almost certainly did not get the same amount of light as the tops. You may have had the lights a bit too far away which may have caused some stretching. This might explain why some of you colas have not fully connected. May have something to do with the stain as well. I don't know cause I've never grown Northern lights. Hope this helps you.

Sorry.....had to edit this.

They've only been flowering for 7 weeks not 9 so there's certainly a long way to go yet.

My bad
