Do Edibles Get Stronger With Age?

I have searched far and wide regarding this, as a friend of mine swears that edibles made with cannabutter will get stronger and stronger as time goes on, so much so that after a few months you would only eat half as much as before.

I don't believe this as I have never experienced, heard or found anything like this. Except for when I first did a bit of reading into curing and harvesting. From what I understand, THC over time changes into other cannabinoids which can give you a greater couchlock effect.

Is this what my friend is referring to?

i think the your talking about when the buds are still on the plant if they grow longer then the trichs turn amber and amber trichs gives you a couchlock high

not true, cannabutter mellows out after it's been stored a while.... you will need more and the high will be slightly different.

I would say it depends on the medible... had an aged firecracker 1 mo...=horrible experiance... I think the oils in edibles are able to soak up more thc...

Are you meaning the actual butter or final baked product?? Cause I dont know about anyone else but I dont leave cookies,brownies,muffins, etc around for a month or two to be eaten ahaha THC or not. It doesnt gain potency or a different effect letting them sit around, the only thing your doing is letting them get stale or a chance of mold unless air-tight sealing and storing in the freezer. Same goes for butter id freeze it if you plan on keeping it around.

I bake a lot...and even frozen cannabutter that is 8 months old seems to have the same potency.

not in my experience... maybe you simply don't notice subtle differences, you wouldn't be the first.

This is utter bullshit. What if a bud is 9 % thc. Your saying after 2 years it will lose 6% hahahahahahahahahahahahah not true.

At the end of the paragraph you pulled this data from it also says, "Fairbairn and others (6) reported that carefully prepared herbal or resin cannabis products are reasonably stable for one to two years if stored in the dark at room temperature."

you misinterpretted it man, if you have 9% thc, then you're going to lose 6% of THAT after 2 years.
